I am lucky Jeff. As Randy says, "Slanta" was good and I am enjoying all my goodies old and new. And I am adoring the Cella Soap. Happy New Year, scott
It lines up pretty naturally Randy. I hold the ends of the blades to keep them in place. I then eye them, and I'm good to go. The post does the real work, and the tto works great for it's closing function. It lines up nice, Gary picked me a good one. Thanx again for your kind words. First few shaves where DFS but I seem to have bonded lately and am getting great shaves.

Randy....the Japanese style makes it look worse than it really is! Many people say it is not a real straight as it uses replaceable blades. The edge is actually sharper than a traditional straight but currently I dont have the knowledge to maintain a traditional blade. That will be my goal for 2012.
Happy New Year EVERYONE And, since this is my 1,000 th POST, I thought this morning's shave should be special. My pick was a Double Ring 1905 that I just got from another member and arrived right after Christmas. So, Somerset Simmons Eagle 2 badger, TSD soap, Double Ring Gillette Old Type OC, Voskhod Blade from Jody's adventure, and Tom Ford Grey Vetiver EDT +(Becker Scuttle)

Actually, maintaining a traditional blade is what has kept me from trying a straight. Wait...that means you're my enabler!!!

Tuesday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 AM day 6 Bozzano Sensitive SC Svoboda AS Balsam Barbon AS Splash JHL Cologne Although this 7 AM blade is ready for the garbage can now, it still gave me a great BBS shave. The Bozzano Sensitive cream from Brazil has an insanely rich lather, a strong, but nice eucalyptus scent, a very good menthol effect, and it really is soothing for sensitive skin. The Svoboda balsam and Barbon aftershave splash added a wonderful cold continuation of the menthol.
