Sunday, January 08, 2012 Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Razor: Ikon OSS Blade: Astra Superior Platinum Brush: Thater Stout 2 (4125/2) Cream or Soap: D.R. Harris Arlington Soap A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, 4711 Splash This razor and blade combination has been giving me excellent shaves, and this morning was no exception. The shave always seems to be very close, smooth, and comfortable (I've been using the open comb side mostly).
Sunday, January 8, 2012 - Cream Annihilation Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar; hand strop blade Coffee: Locally roasted, fresh ground Costa Rican w/ cream Lather: Speick cream - face lather Brush: Vulfix 2234 Razor: Gem Heavy Flat Top Blade: Pella SS PTFE coated (3); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Kiehl's Balm Cream Annihilation has begun. I really do enjoy the Speick cream but I'm honestly more excited about picking up the stick after I work through some of my creams. Great scent and wonderful performance as always from Speick. The Vulfix whipped up a very thick and cushy lather on my face and that amazing smell just enveloped my entire face. Shave Rating - Splendid! God Bless!
Sunday Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower, soak brush CD: Winds of Worship ~ Live in New England Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya Safari Ridge, BLACK Soap: TSD SOTQ C1 - subtle, but nice. I like it. Brush: Mohawk 3-338 with original knot Razor: Ever Ready 1912 - think about it; 100 years ago... Blade: Gem, day 2, 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse, Cool Mist, Sean John Unforgivable, hand strop blade 'Stache Wax: Steve's Own Shave Rating: 4 Blades I get a more comfortable SE shave from my MicroMatics (OC, Clog Pruf, and Push Button) and my Gem Jr Lather Catcher, but I think it's just cool to use a razor designed and put into production 100 years ago. I'll keep it in the rotation. Just as I was finishing up and getting ready to toss the towel into the hamper, Becky calls from the kitchen, "Muffins are ready. Do you want them now?" Are you kidding? Hot, home-made from scratch banana muffins, just out of the oven with butter melted all down into them? You think I'm going to wait? You gotta be kidding! Put together with a fresh hot cup of coffee, they were fantastic!! I'm here until 9:30 this morning, then I'm off to church. If any of you can get here, there are a few left we'd be willing to share .

Sunday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/7 AM day 5 Proraso White SS Eveline Aloe AS Gel Chabrawichi 555 Cologne (from Egypt - very nice and lemony) Sorry for no pictures today - today's shave was really good and smooth. The 7 AM blade is still surprising me by holding up so well against my tough stubble. The Proraso White soap delivered its rich, fragrant lather and soothing effect with a nice cooling effect. The Eveline gel takes excellent care of the skin, and also has a slight menthol feeling. There's nowhere to go today, so I'll just chill at home with my wonderful family.
R41 w/ Feather (one day too many) Gem OCMM / Gem SS PTFE Semogue 2000 Klar Kabinett / Ingram SC / M-Bomb Super Lather Alum Witch Hazel 4711 AS Thought I could get another good shave out of the Feather, but was sadly mistaken. It went bad during my first pass. Had to finish with the ocmm. Need to go back to only having one loaded razor where I can keep track of the blades.
Sunday: Shumate 5/8 Omega Pro boar Williams Mug Soap Alum Block Witch Hazel Afta Fresh Balm British Sterling Cologne Wow! It must be 8-9 months since I've used Williams and it didn't dissapoint me either. I also took a couple of piggies out so they could get some exercise this week.
Sunday morning, January 8, 2012 Schick E2 Injector Razor w/ Schick Blade, Omega 10049 Boar Bristle Brush, MWF shaving soap w/ warm water lather, finish w/ cold water rinse for a DFS!
Gillette Aristocrat #16 Iridium super Simpson chubby 1 in best Mitchell's wool fat Speick aftershave and 444 balm
Great photo, I originally thought that was a shot of whiskey instead of a candle. I was thinking to myself, man this guy is hardcore, whiskey in the morning with your shave. Well it looks like I need to get my glasses checked. You can see where my head is at.
Sunday Had the house to myself this morning so I had a very nice shave Proraso White soap Gillette Milord w/ Lord Platinum (D1-new blade) Omega Boar 10015, face lather Polar Ice splash, Proraso ASB This was a three pass with one spot of touch-up DFS+. Still a little rough on the jawline when going ATG, but thats how it goes. The proraso white is always good for me. I don't know why they call the stuff polar ice, its not cooling, it is described as mentolated peppermint, but I don't get that at all. That being said it leaves my face smooth and the smell does not linger long. The Proraso ASB is just favorite at this point. My daughter has another birthday party or I would join Steve for those muffins he is bragging about. I'll have another cup of coffee and call it even. This was a great shave for a great day. Sorry for the bad picture, I had problems posting the photo so the resolution is pretty bad.
Sunday 8th Jan Hot shower followed by A Real Shave Facial scrub Proraso Pre/Post Cream Ford & Medley Sheffield 333 5/8 Razor Omega 10029 Brush Proraso Soap Alum Bar followed by Proraso ASB Proraso AS Today was almost BBS. I doubled the number of passes on the strop and everything seemed to work OK . It still feels strange however. How do I know when the blade needs rehoned? I know that I should get a reasonable number of shaves.......but bad stropping could reduce that significantly. All in all I ampleased with the results....but it will be back to the AC during the work week
