Tuesday Prep: Hot shower, soak brush CD: 25 Masters of the Blues ~ Vol. I Coffee: El Salvador, BLACK Soap: TSD Sandalwood Brush: Ever Ready 200T with original knot Razor: Thick Handle Tech (at least that's what Country Joe had it listed as. Think fat-handle tech with an open comb head) Blade: Voskhod, day 2, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, Cool Mist, B&BW Oak, hand strop blade Shave Rating: 3 Blades For me, the shave rating is the entire morning experience, from hitting the shower to spritzing on the cologne. If I was going on results alone, this would be a 4, maybe even 5 blade shave. But sadly not. Have I mentioned I'm just not keen on face lathering? Thin lather, but enough to get the job done. Hated it. Call me a glutton for punishment, but I'll tough this week out to the end. I'm still hoping I'll have an "AH-HA" moment with face lathering.
Yep, and the brush that I use is the one pictured in that thread. Bill gave me a PIF package when I first signed up here.
Of course you should leave it in. Gives people a reason to read this whole thread, not just skim the pictures.

did it fourty weeks a year Johnny for a decade. Now I cruise in my car. It's a rough life, traveling, no matter how u get there.
I know what you mean. I traveled for 25-years in my job before retirement. I don't even drive around town unless absolutely necessary.
25 years is too many. WoW. I did five 30-40 flight years, 10 100 or so flight years and 5 30-40 flight years. And I'm only 23.
Steve, I hate hearing that face lathering isn't working out for you, but there's still 5 more shaves for you to find that "AH-HA" moment this week! I hope you do find it, even if you still prefer bowl lathering after. Good luck!
Tuesday, January 17th Razor: Wilkinson Sticky Blade: Polsilver Brush: Shavemac 2007 LE Pre-Shave: Musgo Real Glyce Lime Soap: Trumper Violet (Tallow) A/S: Alt Innsbruck I am reminded just how much I like the old tallow version of Trumper Soap. So much so that I think I will put my lone remaining puck of Penhaligon's shave soap up for trade. I enjoyed a great shave followed by a favorite, Alt Innsbruck. It doesn't get any better than this!
Tuesday's Shower and Shave Hot Shower LuJin Badger MWF Day two of face lathering. Little more tricky using MWF, the lather was acceptable to shave with but it could have been better. The issue was in how much water I used. Fatboy dialed to #6 Viking Sword Face rinse, Thayer's Witch Hazel, Kapo The judges  rated this DFS an 8.
In the Pigpen era, they were a great blues band. I saw them for the first time in 1980 (freshman year college) at Univ of Illinois. I got to see them 9 more times. The last was in 91. I turned down an invite to see them in 93, I don't recall why, but it wasn't because I didn't want to. In 91' I was working as a doc for Soldier Field for the Dead shows (a woman who I Interned with worked for Northwestern. They covered Soldier Field. She remembered I liked the band and asked me to work with her for that weekend.) over a weekend. That was a long strange weekend. First night I worked, second I came as a volunteer-meant I got to sit in the front row during the show. The work night was extremely intense. We sent about 25 people to Northwestern, many in leather restraints. The second night was a blast-made the first night worth it.
That's a trip! You saw them for the last time a few days before I saw them for the first/only time! I saw them at Sandstone in Bonner Springs, KS on June 24, 1991. They came to KS straight from Chicago!
Tuesday Proraso Pre/Prost Cream Merkur 37C + Rapira SS (D1, Stropped) Palmolive Menthol Cream Omega Mighty Midget Cold Water Rinse + Gillette Hydro A/S Balm Ok so my initial impressions with my new stuff: 37C Slant Bar: no reason to fear it, at all. I kind of looked at it cockeyed but it gave me a beautifully smooth shave, no nicks, no redness, no bleeders. Actually I wasn't even any more careful per say than with my 38C, it just did a beautiful and comfortable job. I love this thing to death already. The Mighty Midget is one amazing little face latherer. Takes a bit to get used to with such a small handle, however it's not uncomfortably small, and held 3 passes worth of lather in that little puppy without any effort. Boar/Badger mix is firm yet still soft on your face without feeling like you're using a wire brush. Palmolive Menthol: All I can say is Lathers very easily, menthol is super cooling on your skin and it smells fantastic.
Slanty Gets a New Brother, O.C Wein Face Lather Week As some of you know I was looking for a more aggressive razor then my EJ to use on day shaves following nite shaves, light shaves, travel, etc. After much research, I selected another Merkur with the same handle, the open comb 11 C. So today, just minutes ago, i shaved with my first open comb. The Kit Vito's pre/post Omega 80005 Cella-face lathered like a champ! Gillette 7 o'clock Dark Blue (1) Merkur 11 C (1) TSD Bourbon Alcalado Glacial A very refreshing shave. The 11 C was a breeze to use, and was very comfortable in my hand. It delivered a very nice and close shave. I thank you Gary at Shoe Box for your help.
