I don't own one, so I can't talk from experience, but that seems to be the idea. I believe, like Muhle's Tooth Comb head, the object is to create a closer shave with less passes and irritation. I have also heard that if someone has sensitive skin, a slant is a good razor for them.

    madmedic Resistance Is Futile

Too true. I find the Traditional Straights to be a challenge. It would be great to be self sufficient and be able to maintain a razor without requiring an external source for a sharp edge......however I have to work with a traditional. With the Feather/KAI......I place the blade and squeegee the stubble off my face. End of story.

    A long hot shower.
Day three of face lathering. Omega Midget was called in today for the task. I chose Vitos Super Extra to face lather today.
Today's face lathering was an improvement over yesterday's lathering. I learn from the mistakes I had made the previous day.
Razor choice today Gillette Fat Boy loaded with a Viking's Sword blade and dialed to #6.
Three passes, face rinsed then I applied Thayer's Witch Hazel and Colonia Rue Water.
    The judges :wave:rated this DFS a 10.

DFS very aggressive is this razor not sure if I like it buy it does shave close, no cuts so cant complain really.
My face felt ok after the Omega soap, maybe it was the balm giving me a problem or a combo of the 2, anyway I'll find out this week

    Joseph Elliot near wedge
    Maca Root Cream
    Simpson 57
    Alum
    Pashana Original AS

My oldest razor and my only wedge. I don't use it often as prefer hollow grounds partly because I can hear the shave better, if that makes sense. None the less a dam fine shave, wasn't aiming for BBS, and got clean close and comfortable.

Pre-shave soap: Musgo Real Glyce Lime
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE87
    Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
    Brush: EJ Best
    Soap or Cream: Lavanda Cream
    A/S: Dickinson's Witch Hazel, Alpa 378 Splash

My first use of Lavanda cream--very nice stuff. I was in a hurry this morning, so did one less pass than usual. The shave was, nonetheless, DFS and very comfortable. And the Alpa 378 provided an excellent finish with its touch of menthol.

I know we are not getting the same bitter cold weather as Alberta, but trust me - it is still plenty cold here. We had around -15C today, and there was wind. It is now -17C with a small wind, but is very humid, so it feels lousy. I went before to places like Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, Red Deer, etc before in the winter months, and I found it brutally cold! :(

From a physics standpoint, my buddy is a physicist, the angle is a more efficient way to mow through stubble, using the concept of a scythe for your face. It took me a few days to trust it but it is a three passes and done, constantly close shave, very efficient.
