The 2012 Voskhod DE Blade Group Buy

Sorry, had a couple more questions! Are these similar to Gillette Russian blades, or are they totally different? Got a sample of the Voskhod to try, but haven't opened them yet. Did a blind buy on some Dorcos and ended up not liking them, so am gun shy.

 

To me, they are better and are the only blade I use regularly. But blades are a YMMV thing so you'll need to try them and see if you like them.

 

I think an important aspect of the Group Buy, as others say, is to benefit this great community. For myself, I am not going to quibble about a few bucks here and there if it benefits this site and this great group of people we share this hobby and past time with.
WE ALL KNOW that the administrators, owners, mods and some great users on this board take care of us with utmost respect, kindness and selflessness. I want these people to see some benefit from this kind of thing because they deserve it.
But, they do this to benefit us and ARE NOT doing this for any benefit for themselves.

I do understand that there are those on this board who absolutely like the economic benefits of shaving in these manners and that is perfectly fine with me and also a part of what this community is about.

I'm a big Gillette blade fan, so may be able to help you. 7 O'clock Yellows (Russian) & 7 O'clock Blacks (Indian) are two of my absolute favorite blades. Voskhod is now a part of my regular rotation, because I find them to be a little smoother, albeit less aggressive than my beloved Gillettes.

Something else that others may have already pointed out, if you bought some Voskhods from this group buy and later decide that you don't like them, there are plenty of people around here who'd buy or trade them from you (myself included).

Thanks for the feedback on the Gillette similarities. I have a number of sample blades, Voskhod including, that I'm trying. Have been perfecting my technique, as am pretty new to this, so have been trying to stay consistent first with a single brand. Tried the Derby and Dorco based on them being smooth (figured less irritation), but so far the Gillette 7 O'Clock yellow has been the best. Guess I'm learning the ins and outs still.

 

Guys it's 100 blades! If you don't like them ,I'm sure that someone else is going to say: I could have had those blades but waited too long!! And you trade the 99 left over to him for 25 feathers. Or what ever...
They're like baseball cards! Someone always want the pitcher that someone else has .-)

I've been using Voskhod's for the last few months and they're my current favorites. Excellent blade, excellent price.

For those looking for reviews, I have used the Voshkods and like them a lot. I would put them in the "second tier" of my blade hierarchy, below my stained Gillette Bleues and Super Iridiums, and on the same level as Gillette Yellows and Personna Medical Labs. For comparison, my third-tier blades would be Gillette Blacks and Feathers (only because the Feathers slash me to ribbons) The Voshkods routinely give me 4-5 good shaves.
