Cool! For those who may not know, that big round black thing is a record. Trivia question: The average record had five songs per side, each song lasting about 3.5 minutes. How many groves were made, on average, per record?
I Always stop in the Value Village stores in each town I visit, Looking for shave mugs, Barbershop bottles and such but I have never come across any good HiFi equipment, and I do check the back of the store where the electronics are... Its all in the timing I guess. Do you know where the Crossroads Trading post is, off Garden Ave in Brantford? (Sorry I already cleaned out all the shave gear) There is a Gentlemen there that has a booth specifically stocked with vintage HiFi equipment and records. I met the fellow Monday and he told me he can get whatever I want From Harmon Kardon to Thorens.
Too funny Steve, but your right some of the younger members never experienced the joy of listening to a LP To answer your question there are only two groves on the average record...one on each side...lol
Yes there is a small plane at Crossroads, lots of cool stuff inside. Were you refering to Waterford on old Hwy 24 south of Brantford...there is a good Antique store there. Actually three of them, always lots of shaving goodies there. Also there is a antique store to the west of Waterford in an old barn on Windham Road 12, Go west off of the new Hwy 24..there is a sign.
Yes ,Waterford .I'll have too head there sometime.Do you know there's two markets in St.Jacobs, one on Hwy6 Freelton,One in London,Stratford and several around TO?And there are others father away.
Man...if I only knew about this shaving hobby of ours a few years ago when I lives in Brantford (and other areas of ON). I would have taken all the antique stores by storm! I just picked this up from the post office today. It is a car dock for the Motorola ATRIX 4G. Bell has all the ATRIX docks on clearance so it was only $10 shipped. I am pretty stoked! No more borrowing the father in law's GPS anymore. Although I could just use the GPS on-the-job phone, I find it much easier to follow a mounted guide!
There are also regular Nostalgia shows in Woodstock, Ancaster, St.George... I have been to the ones in Stratford...pricey...tourist town. There is a big show coming up now but I cant remember where, I'll ask my wife and PM you the info. Maybe we can meet up for coffee there Of course you clean out Southworks regularly... Were are sort of getting of topic here...stealing the thread
As you can see my newly aquired Eclipse red ring razor (2 piece) in the 5th pic you can see a slight buckle in the guard bar, I gave it a quick try the other day and this does NOT affect the shave at all, But for £15 inc postage im not complaining. here are some after pics Quite a mild but very smooth razor, and it cleaned up nice
As mentioned in a seperate thread my Gillette No 21 Aristocrat. I only paid £25 for this so im very happy when it cleaned up so good ( i did buy with the intention of replating but I dont think it needs it)
Today I was PIF'd the following late 40's Gillette Super Speed by Williams Warrior. It is cleaning up real nice and I look forward to giving it a try tomorrow.
