Sunday 5th February Shower and Facial scrub Proraso Preshave cream Kai Captain Excelia (Japanese style) Semogue 1470 Brush Proraso Shave Soap Alum Block followed by Proraso Liquid ASB Proraso AS Pecksniffs Leather Cologne. A late start to the day as I was late home last night. My worst fears were realised. Snow emptied out of the heavens and the motorways were littered with abandoned cars and jack knifed lorries. It took a loooooong time to get home. A BBS today. Proraso is not the slickest soap.....but for some reason....a total Proraso shave always gives great results.

Sunday Razor: Dovo Bismarck 6/8 Brush: Omega boar Soap: Institut Karite (in Burma Shave mug) Toner: Booster Mosswood A/S: Polo Great Sunday shave. I used Booster Mosswood in place of witch hazel. I think I've used a variation of this picture before, but why reinvent the wheel since I pretty much use the same stuff every Sunday.
Sunday Prep: 30 minute marinade with TSD ISZ PSB, hot shower, hand strop blade, soak brush Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Ethiopia Illubabor, BLACK Soap: TSD Iced Sweet Tea Brush: Omega 10098 SE: Gem MMOC Blade: Gem, day 1, 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse, L'Oreal Comfort Max ASB, Old Spice cologne, hand strop blade Shave Rating: 4 blades Not bad. First time I've use Old Spice since high school, I think. 1980 graduate. And to think I'll be 50 in May. Just seems like time goes quicker every year.
I'm an '80 grad too, Steve. Back then, I thought I was going to live forever. Youth really is wasted on the young.
Sunday Arko SC/Shave Stick Omega 10029 Baby-pro,boar 1938 Gillette Senator One Piece Razor New Astra/New Perma-Sharp Super-shave off Cold wayer rinse/Arko moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia I'm really liking whipping up a good SC lather on my face...then rubbing a wet Arko Stick in small circular motions on my face...This rubs the SC into the beard and applys the Shaving stick at the same time...Then I add Hot water to the brush tips and hit my face whipping up a Super-lather, and it really explodes ! Dropped a new Astra SP in my Senator and leaned over close to the mirror and took the 1st stroke from my left side-burn to the bottom of my left ear. It was a pretty clean stroke, and a perfect example of "beard reduction". I can see the tiny short whiskers that will require the XTG and ATG passes plus probably a little touch-up to polish off all traces of hair. Then I got a wild idea...I dropped a new Perma-Sharp Super in the Senator and took the same stroke on my right side. This was a clean stroke but left BBS in its wake. Not a whisker remaining. More like the Injector, but even closer. So I left the P-SS in and relathered my left cheek and finished my WTG pass...Did a XTG touch-up on my goatee to my 'adam's apple' sides. And I've got one text-book BBS with no irritation... The Astras are perfect for when I really want that whole 4 pass luxury shave...But the Perma-Sharp Supers in a minimum amount of time with no muss no fuss sure deliver a perfect BBS...and face feels perfect...now to try and keep my hands off my face in public...This will be the problem Didn't have time to post til now, 9 hours later...and things are still pretty polished darn it...I was hopeing to do another pass or two... HAVE A GREAT SUPER-BOWL SUNDAY may the best team win!!
Sunday Gillette Super Adjustable @5 Voskhod day 1 D.R. Harris H3 best badger TSD Iced Sandalwood shaving soap TSD Iced Eucalyptus witch hazel Proraso Balm I'm going to give up on the Voskhods, we're not getting along very well. Fresh blade in the Gillette, a lot of tugging again, didn't feel smooth at all. The 100 blades I signed in for in the group buy will appear in the freebies section shortly.
Here is a pre-emptive post for Sunday through next Friday since I'm heading out on a small exercise for a week. Bare minimum is the order of the day, so here it goes: Face Wash Merkur 37C + Astra SP Omega Mighty Midget Proraso White Soap Cold Water Rinse + Cam Paint And the requisite shot of my kit before it gets thrown into my rucksack. Wetshaving is such a pleasure to use in the military because it's so light, compact and I have a 2 month supply of blades shoved into the travel container. Hint: This will be one of the shots I'll be using for my article when I finally get some time to finishing it
Sunday: Brush: 21047 mixed Razor: Merkur 41c open-comb Blade: Rapira "Swede," 2, with trimmed Feather as a shim Soap: Prairie Creations, Cool Spring Toner: skipped it Finish: Prairie Creations Cool Spring Balm This balm is a bit heavy so I skipped the Thayer's today. Nice smooth shave, DFS bordering closely on a total BBS.
