Muhle R106 The Colonel Lab Blue blade Arko stick Proraso AS Well I think the blade is done. Second shave with it today...but the first one was with a few days growth and that usually ends a blades life quickly. I did a 2 pass and have some irritation. I was excited to try the Arko, I think it smells great! Like I said it was a rough shave but welcome all the same.

A month of the Gems with the 27th being the centennial of the 1912 patent. Using the DVH today & tomorrow so I can better review the new "Extra fris" version that I'll get tomorrow & shave with on Wednesday. A very smooth shave with a very close finish. Shave Rating - Splendidly Sublime! Another Single Blader! God Bless!
This is the first De Vergulde Hand that I have used, but I must say that I am impressed. Especially for a non tallow soap it performs great. I would put it at the top of my rotation along with the Tabac and Arko.

This was last nights shave, posting it today as football was on last night so quick shave at half time (nothing is quicker than the R-41 for me 2 pass BBS with touch ups) Hot shower Proraso pre Proraso green Proraso ASB Muhle R-41 Astra sp blade (D-1) Omega 10275 boar (face lathered to save a little time) I didnt know what to shave with last night so a combo of 3 piece (for 3 piece wk) Proraso (for menthol mondays) so I ticked all the box's
Felt like a straight razor day. Just got back some razors I had Glen hone, and was ready to take this pretty lady for a spin. Just 3 pieces here. Torry with covered pearl tang (yeah....I gotta get a pic) DVH boar brush (Thanks, Mike!) TSD Sweet Tea Wheat shaving cream Kinda wish I'd had Glen put new scales on this straight. Don't know if the ones on there are original but they don't go well with the pearl tang, IMO. (I have to get a pic now) I always feel a bit ornery in my opinions of shaving products, but.......out of the 3 new brushes I've gotten recently, this DVH boar is my favorite. The other 2, you ask? A Shea Moisture (aka The Dridecker), and a Vulfix 404 boar/badger mix.

It has a nice scent with rich, creamy lather and a very strong cooling effect. The Gillette Pro Series balsam soothes, moisturizes and cools the skin very well. I had a terrific shave this morning!

A three pass shave gave a BBS. A little more care was required to compensate for the smaller blade. The Lavenda I used was the older formulation and very pleasant. Can anyone tell me how the newer recipe compares?
