Tuesday Muhle R106 SOC Boar Gillette Spoiler Proraso Green Proraso AS Today I decided to try out a Gillette Spoiler. For the first shave I have to say it was very nice! Smooth anchor irritation. I went with the Proraso line up because I have been feeling so crummy lately...today I feel worse than yesterday. Somehow I managed to slice the side of my upper lip. About a 1/2 in gash. I don't know how I pulled that one off...shaving while sick maybe... other than that it was a decent shave!
tuesday hot shower proraso white feather as feather blade ( came in the mail yesterday ) another attempt at no lather. i was a little nervous about trying it with the feather blade, but to my relief there was no blood, pain, burn, irritation. I stuck my hand in water then rubbed the soap with my fingers and smeared it on my face and did a 1 pass atg shave. a thin coating of proraso white was all that was used with the same results as yesterdays shave. perfection. it might be wrong in some peoples eyes but i have finally found a way to get a great comfortable shave out of my feather. the only problem i see with this is the 4 tubs of shaving soap i have will last me the rest of my life
Hi Brian just wondering how you like the New Forest Tubby 1 brush, ? I myself have one and must admit and say what a cracking little brush it is, with soap or cream, a good little allrounder. Regards Jamie.

Tuesday, February 7, 2012 Prep: Hot shower Soap/cream: Portman Square English Style Cream - Tropical Coconut Brush: Ever Ready C40 Razor: Gillette Slim Adjustable I-2 birth year/quarter, (5) Blade: Derby (3) Cold water rinse Dickinson's Witch Hazel Superior 70 Bay Rum Today I used a sample I received from Phil @ BullGoose - the Portman Square English Style Cream in the Tropical Coconut scent. Last week I tried the Orange Vetiver scent, and found that face lathering was best for me, though I normally bowl lather. The Orange Vetiver scent tingled my skin a little, but didn't cause any real irritation. Today's Tropical Coconut scent felt very comfortable for me, could be a better choice than the Orange Vetiver for someone with sensitive skin. Really great shave today - this "croap" performs! Good cushion during my 3 passes, and really slick during touch-ups afterwards. Used some bay rum aftershave to top of the tropical experience! 80% BBS, 20% DFS
Tuesday Morn! Morning Ladies and Gents. Pre: Hot Shower Razor: Merkur 23c Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (2) Soap: Proraso Green Tea & Aloe Brush: Omega 10005 Post: Thayers WH, Cold Rinse, RSC Balm Given Sunday's shave was the first one I had with one of these blades, and it didn't turn out very good, I wasn't expecting terribly much from it this morning. I got what I bargained for, more burn. It's not that the blade was tugging, but it just didn't seem to cut very good for me. And maybe I'm guilty of going over spots more than usual, thus causing the burn, but at least there were no weepers or nicks. I have some stubble left, and will need a couple days to heal up I think. Not the end of the world though.
Tuesday morning, February 7, 2012 Schick E2 Injector Razor w/ Schick blade (2) Omega 10049 boar bristle brush, MWF shaving soap w/ warm water lather, finish w/ cold water rinse for a DFS! Schick E2 - Razor of choice this week!
I may have said this one time before....but the NF Tubby i is champagne shaving on a beer budget. I also have the Tubby 2, but I nearly always find myself reaching for the smaller brush. The 2 band knot ....for me is very luxurious and has loads of backbone.

It is part of several pucks of soap that are mystery pucks, I can came close to what is in them. The mystery is what brand of pucks they are.
Tuesday's Shower and Shave A long hot shower. Omega 48, was called into lather duty this morning. After returning to my shave cup yesterday, having sub-par lather. I lathered MWF, in my cereal bowl, the lather was absolutely stupendous. I have drawn the conclusion that the depth of what you chose to lather in is critical. My Old Style Gillette Open Comb, has not seen much shave duty, was chosen today. I loaded it with an Astra. Three passes today, a polar water facial splash followed with Thayer's Witch Hazel, Kapo. The :wave:rated this DFS an outstanding 10. This morning's shave was one those shaves where everything lined up perfectly. Exquisite lather made the face slick as ice. The razor and blade combo was just ideally mated. The shave strokes were slow and with just the right measure of pressure. All this combined to make a totally outstanding shave.
Tuesday Razor: Dovo Best Quality 6/8 Brush: Omega boar Soap: Tabac Toner: Booster Bay Rum A/S: Master Topaz Rushed morning trying to get out in time to make 8 AM dentist appointment with daughter. Shave was decent, but some stubble left on right side near the jaw that I didn't know I'd missed until 30 or so minutes after the shave after the skin had settled down.
"Vintage style" shave this evening: 8/8 W&B restored by Glen Vie-Long horsehair brush Williams mug soap Nivea AS lotion To my surprise, Williams did a nice job of softening the stubble and the glide was good also. DFS. I'd like to try 'vintage' version one day - it's been said it is much better...
