    Tuesday 14 February

This was an 04:00 AM shave on the road, just got a some free time to post today.

    Mama bear's awakinings stick
    EJ89 w/ Gillette 7O'Clock yellow
    Omega boar travel brush
Boosters Lime Ice splash and Nivea Sensitive ASB

It was a very nice three pass shave, had to get up early for work. I am liking the yellow's so I thought I would give them another spin, not as smooth as the blue's but they work very well for me. I'm still trying out the EJ razor. I like the weight and balance, so far so good.

    Wednesday, February 15, 2012 - Midnight Shave

Prep :: Luke warm water wetdown
Razor :: Progress w/ BRW Handle
Blade :: Super Iridium (4 and it's outta here)
Soap :: Klar Kabinett (Thanks, Dale)
Brush :: Rudy Vey Omega Boar
Post :: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater
AS :: RazoRock Balm + a touch of Captain's Choice Bay Rum for scent

Dale (PanChango) was kind enough to send me a a chunk of his German Klar soap to try. The scent is light and breezy. Like leaving the windows open on a Spring day. I rubbed the chunk all over my beard like a stick then briefly primed my boar on it. The lather started right away and the more water I added, the better it got. A great smooth BBS shave and I easily got 3.5 passes out of it. That's tough to do with that little piggy boar.

A terrific soap that I look forward to using more and then getting my own. Thanks again, Dale.

Moderate menthol today. I found 5 Personna blades in my den, never used them before, so I thought I'd give them a try. Not bad at all. See how long this blade is going to last.

3 Passes = close enough for the boardroom.

The Mehaz that I asked about over here arrived recently and I took it for a spin today. The build quality is in-line with its claimed Solingen heritage. The Mehaz is surprisingly hefty, more so than the Weishi that it resembles, specifically the higher quality Gunmetal Weishi. The shave with the Mehaz is very mild, way more mild than a Weishi or a Tech. I had to adjust my angle a few times in order to get it cutting whiskers efficiently. Once I had my angle dialed in though, it provided acceptable results. At $27.00, this would make a decent starter razor, but I would hesitate to suggest it to anyone because for the most part, I am not a fan of TTO razors, and for $10.00 more, you can get an EJDE89L, or for $10.00 less, a used Super Speed.

As for me, I am going back to the R-41. Watch for the Mehaz to be part of March = TSD PIF Month.

Once again, BBS with almost no effort - the new Wilkinson Sword blade delivered a lot of comfort in addition to the smoothness. This Kool Frosty cream from Bangladesh is very well-named. The lather is so cooling and rich. I can't rave about the scent, but it's not that bad either. The Barbon aftershave put the final freezing touch on a perfect shave! ;) :D

    Merkur 34C w/ feather (3)
    TBS Synthetic
    Proraso pre-shave (white)
    Proraso soap (green tub)

I'm trying not to shave everyday, but I picked up a tub of Proraso soap yesterday and couldn't wait to try it. I kept it simple with 2 WTG passes. I am loving the Proraso stuff! I used the green tea w/ aloe pre-shave as pre and post, yummy. This is my first feather blade experience as well, 3rd shave with it and I can't tell a difference from the first shave. Every other blade I've tried, I've noticed it change with each shave.

In any case, not the clsoest shave ever, but I was more interested in product testing that chasing a baby :happy088:

    Happy hump-day!

    wednesday's shave
    OW!OW!OW!!!!!
    OK OK lesson learned

I decided to shave befor I went to pick up my son and take him to school. Normally I wait until I drop him off and I get home take a shower and shave.
So today I figured I had enough time.
Man I dont know what it was but uncle!
    Pre-shave; Hot towel trick
    Razor; Gillette super speed
    Blade; Feather yellow (new)
    Soap; VDH
    Brush; Omega badger

I'm not sure if my Feather AS-D1 has ruined me on any other razor ( for all I know it may be wageing war against the others in the cabinet) or if it was my choice of soap or blade or what but....Ladies and Gentlemen my face has been ripped to shreds. SEVERAL bleeding weepers....looked like my face was covered in little volcanoes.
I rubbed RazorRock's alum on my face and the burn about sent me thru the roof! bleeding still wouldnt stop so I had to break out the steptic pencil, which I have'nt even seen in several months. There was all sorts of tugging going on and that is HIGHLY unusual for a feather blade on my side any way.
Ok there little Feather AS-D1 you have made your point!
worst shave EVER!!!!! but it was close :D

    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

I have course hairs all around, the only place my beard grows in different directions is a small patch on my right cheek. There it grows from nose to ear.I do 3 passes on my face and neck. For my face WTG,WTG,ATG.Neck gets WTG for 3 passes. For my right cheek I shave that trouble spot nose to ear, that would be WTG,the rest of that side of the face gets North to South. For ATG that spot gets from ear to nose then South to North for the rest of the area. You might want to try to map out your beard growth and see if that works for you.

If you're going to go latherless Feather makes a shave gel,I tried it with my Feather AC but it seems like sacrilage not to use brush and lather while shaving.
