Hey everybody, as the days go on I find myself getting low on my stash of Red Personnas. A few years ago when I bought them, they were the best blade I had tried. I got (and still do) decent shaves and never really had to worry about cutting myself without me knowing it, etc... I am starting to consider what blade I should invest in next. Now, I like Feathers, but they are a bit too harsh for everyday use. However I have always been interested in, and wanting to try the Gillette 7 O'clock blades. I haven't looked into them for a while so I can't remember the different properties of the different colors.

I was wondering if you guys/gals would be able to let me know what you think of them and what blades they can compare to?

    Thanks!

My favorite Gillette 7OC is the black. I have used the blue and it gives a nice shave. The blacks are sharp without feeling harsh.

If you have never tried them, send me your address and I will send you what colors we have ... it may just be the blacks and blues but we have so many blades there may be some yellows hanging around here somewhere. :)

Go for Green. The only ones I'd not sure of are the Orange - from Vietnam . I have mix experiences with them depending on the razor.

I like blues, blacks, and green (super stainless). The blues and blacks are sharper than the greens, but I get a few nice shaves out of all of them.

I am not fond of the other green or the yellows.

blanka I will not eat my shaving products. Promise.

I'm a huge fan of 7 O'clock blacks & yellows. The blues are nice too, but the first two are better for me. I'm not too crazy about the greens.

I just used the Black and Yellow for the first time yesterday in my EJ89 and had a very nice comfortable shave. Nothing extra-ordinary, but a solid contender! :)

Thanks for the input. I have some blues and blacks (maybe some others too) on the way from some kind members. I am pretty excited to try them. I see the yellow are the sharpest...according to Squire's review.

I have used the black, blue and green but never tried the yellow or any other flavor. I would deffo buy more black, and if black was not available then the blue. The green might have been okay, but it has been a couple of years since I used one.

For sure try the black. Please let me know what you think of the yellow.

In the meantime, I guess I will continue with the black and blue, along with the Voskhod and Feather.

I think I'll put an order in for some yellow blades tomorrow. I don't really have the desire to try green.

I'm a Newbie, but the yellows have worked in several different razors without a problem.

Blues and Yellow for me ,the Blacks are okay but a little harsh and don't last.Blues last for 7 plus shaves for me.

The blues work well in my RJ89L and my 39C!

I have done well with the Yellows, Blacks, and Blues, especially in my EJ. The Greens work best for me in my Gillette adjustable razors, and are not quite as sharp as the other 3. I like them for sure, but all have been demoted to 2nd string by the Voskhods, Rapiras, and Polsilvers. I will keep the 7-O'clocks around, but the far trailing third string blades are now on the margins.

    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

This is YMMV in action,I find the Blues harsh for me and the Blacks smooth and long lasting.I normally get 3 shaves from any blade(that includes headshaves)but the Blacks I can get 4 or more.

I have some yellows and greens on order from Connaught. By the time they get here I should have had a chance to try the blacks or blues.

I started using the yellows and blues for my bite in My Jagger. As I moved to a slant and an open comb, I realized they worked great in a more aggressive razor too.

Too me, the yellows are the sharpest.
The Blues and Blacks are purported to be the same blade from different factories. I find the black a tad more lush, the blue a tad more sharp.

    Haven't tried a green.
