Monday, February 20, 2012 - Midnight Shave Prep :: Luke warm water wetdown Razor :: Schick G1 Injector Blade :: Schick Soap :: MWF Brush :: Rudy Vey Silvertip Post :: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH + Rosewater AS :: Lucky Tiger Tonight was my maiden voyage with an injector. Johnny and Nick got me to thinking about it and then Johnny graciously helped me pick one out. I'm kinda stunned to be honest. I didn't really have any expectations before I shaved with the G1, but afterwards it flet like I cheated. The shave was so effortless, quick and smooth. I didn't have to think about blade angle, etc. It reminded me of an M3 in the way it handled and I'm guessing that has to do with the head design on the Schick. Then I think about all the time and money I have wrapped up in DE razors and I feel guilty. More to think about. Wherever you are around the world, have a great week.

For lathering I just use the puck as a shave stick, so it doesn't matter that it doesn't fit the bowl exactly. DFS

It came with a brush that I picked up at an antique shop last summer. Thought I'd give it a go. I shaved my right cheek and decided that was enough; into the trash it went. It was like using sandpaper to shave with. Popped in the Gillette Super Thin and had a fantastic shave.

Menthol Monday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Wilkinson Sword day 6 Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Vifrex AS Gel Obsession For Men EDT A real BBS and super-enjoyable Italian-style shave this morning - the Wilkinson Sword blade definitely earned its retirement after 6 perfect shaves. The Palmolive Menthol cream felt so frigid and heavenly, and the Vifrex gel gives another menthol blast with a very nice scent, as well as relaxing and soothing skincare.
Monday Hot Shower(soak brush,Semogue 620) Proraso PrePost creme Mama Bear's Lime Ice shave stick Pils 101NE/Gillette 7 O'Clock Black (2) Cold Water Rinse Monster Block Alum (clean brush,razor,police area) Cold Water Rinse alcolado Glacial mixed with a nickel sized amount of 444 Alas,I have a allergy to MWF which is a shame because I love the stuff,I've tried other products with lanolin and have no problem but I always get breakouts with MWF Anyhow Menthol Monday's shave was wonderful,BBS head and face no irritation,except from my cat who kept meowing to be let in my den.I learned the hard way not to let him in.I was shaving with a straight when the cat jumped on my back(no shirt of course) scaring the hell outta me.The razor goes flying missing my foot,the cat goes flying shredding my back,multiple weepers and a near amputation of a toe or 2.

Monday! Prep: hot water rinse, hot washing cloth Music: Jan de Wilde, Hé hé (Belgian singer / songwriter, nice humourous / ironic lyrics) Brush: WS badger / boar Soap: DVH Razor: Gillette Old Style Blade: brandless, 4th shave, rehoned / stropped with Allegro mod.L 3-pass shave + touch-up Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse nice DFS + (close to BBS) The rehoning / restropping using the Allegro seems to work. The shave feels about the same as with the first time I used the blade! Have a wonderful week y'all!
