1. Saturday 25th February

    Hot Shower and Facial scrub
    Proraso Preshave cream
    Feather Artist Club SS
New Forest 2222 High Mountain Silvertip
    Mitchell's Wool Fat Soap
    Witchazel followed by 444 ASB
    Swiss Pitralon AS

Broke the trend for this week...and used something new. My New Forest 2222 arrived this morning and I decided to give it a trial run. It gas a VERY luxurious feel....with great backbone. This will definitely be one of my favourite Badger brushes. Dont intend to bowl lather as I don't do that any more.....but it is perfect for face lathering. Tonight I had a DFS+ with two passes. For some reason I seem to be getting more shaves out of my Feather Super Pros. This one was #5 and still going strong!

  2. Thanks Steve. It was a gift from Frank my barber-he used to cut the hairs of my neck with it in the 60's-80's-called it his "work horse."
And yes the music..... Always good to see more blues fans out there. Ever been to the Chicago Blues Festival? It's a great party.

  3. Saturday (1&2)

EJ DE 8911 with iKon handle
    Feather day 3
    D.R. Harris best badger
    MWF
    TSD Iced Eucalyptus WH
    Proraso splash (shave 1)
    Floid Blue (shave 2)

First time ever I shaved two times on the same day. We're leaving to the airport this night (impossible flight schedule, but it saved a lot of money) for a week in the sun.
At 10 am this morning I did two passes WTG just to look a little presentable. 30 minutes ago I did a proper three pass shave that will get me through the night and the Sunday, I guess.
See you next week here at TSD!

  4. Working on the lathe so all dusty, time for a hot shower and shave!
    scalding hot Shower
    VHD soap (not bad)
    Vintage Strongset brush
    1966 slim adj./?
Avon Wild Country after shave lotion

Had to finish breaking in my newly reknotted Strongset brush (next to my badger copy). It was originally an 18mm bristle, so I shaved down a 20mm bristle knot and stuck it in. Third shave with it and I really like the stiffness, WAY different than badger, but really like the feel, not much bloom. Forgot what blade I stuck in the slim, but it worked fine. So far all from the TSD sample pack have been OK. The Avon has been laying around for ten years or so, and has gotten a little gritty, but it still packs a punch (yowee!) and it smells OK. Now relax and a cocktail ahhhh!!

  8. Shawna, Papa and Mama told me they had some chilly weather down in South Florida recently, but now they say it became more seasonable. We had a good amount of snow here yesterday and today, but we are still behind in the winter. Who needs it!
  9. My friend, I feel to take out my Dovo Bismarck 5/8 straight for tomorrow morning and see if I can still manage a good shave! ;)

  19. I wish you luck ! Just be sure the razor is sharp enough (was professionally honed or bought 'shave ready') and well-stropped before the shave. And keep the things slow - cheeks and sideburns WTG are enough for the first shave, at least that is how I did. I sometimes still touch up with the DE on my hard-to-shave areas and if you watch trough SoS posts, you'll see many guys, who uses 2 razors - a straight and DE, in one shave. Find an article about the technique - SRP Wiki has a bunch of them... I'm looking forward to read about your experience!
