Hello Gents. New to this forum, so forgive me for asking the following question if it's been asked before. Does anyone know of a wet shaving website that specializes in the novel idea of "Daily Shaving"? Reviews of wet shaving tools best suited to "Daily Shaving"? Guys who have jobs that require "Daily Shaving" I can't seem to locate one of those. Every time I bring this up on a wet shaving forum it's like I'm talking another language. Most reviews of safety razors and blades seem to from people who have let their beard grow 2 to 5 days. That doesn't help me. Also, how about shaving techniques designed specifically for "daily Shaving"? Thank I'm crazy? Look around, because so far everything seems to lead to the idea that shaving shouldn't be an everyday thing.
Welcome to The Shave Den! Many of our members shave every day. If you have specific questions, I'm sure many of us would be happy to help you find answers.
I shave every day. And I believe most people on the forum do shave (almost) every day. Many take a day off on the weekends, but I've never heard of Daily Shaving being a foreign concept on any shaving site. In fact, once people learn to enjoy a good shave with a double edge razor, many wish they could shave more often than once a day.
Huh?! From wetshaving forums? Or at least I try to shave everyday, and all of my gear allows me to do that.
+1 Daily shaving isn't a concept that requires special shaving tools. You can shave daily with every tool designed to shave, be it an electric rzaor, a cartridge razor, DE razor or straight razor. Some tools are more popular than others around here, though. The reason you cannot find a website specializing in 'the novel idea of "Daily Shaving"' is that daily shaving is not a novel idea: both my grandfathers shaved on a daily basis, my father did, and so do I. And my guess would be that most people on this forum shave on a (almost) daily basis. There is no need to have a specialized website.
Oops, I forgot to welcome you to The Shave Den, a great community of guys and gals that enjoy wet shaving. I hope you enjoy your stay! While its not required, how about you hop over to the Newbies Section and give yourself a proper introduction thread, I'm sure you'll receive many warm welcomes from the friendly folks of this community.
Welcome to the Den. We know you'll fit right in. So grab yourself a comfy chair, and give our threads a spin! Burma Shave
I only ever used to shave every 2-3 days with my Mach3 because I'd get skin irritation and really bad razor burn. Since I started wet shaving with a DE Safety Razor, however, I shave every day with the exception of maybe Saturday and/or Sunday if I'm feeling lazy (i.e. most Saturdays and Sundays). The only days that I have not shaved since I started wet shaving have been days that I just didn't feel like it; there hasn't been a single day that I didn't shave due to skin irritation or razor burn.
Hello smithshaven, welcome to The Shave Den. I'm right with you on this, it seemed as I lurked about on several shaving forums a lot of people were talking as if they only shaved every 3 or 4 days. I got very curious about what these people did for a living! I used to shave 6 days a week and take Saturday off. Since I've found a way to enjoy shaving, I've been doing it everyday! Pretty much all of the gear and technique that you read about here was originally (and still is) meant for daily shaving. Most of us shave everyday. I guess we just don't talk about daily shaving because we figure its assumed we do.
Welcome to the site! I am one who attempts to shave everyday...sometimes I just don't make it though, and will go 2-3 days without due to the fatigue of my insane life right now! (April can't come soon enough) One thing for me though is I only ever really do 2 pass shaves because they result in presentable shaves, and because my face can't handle 2, 3-pass shaves in a row. It just hurts too bad, and I believe in comfort over smoothness when it comes to shaving. This is because cartridge razors left me with an insane amount of irritation and ingrown hairs. But "+1" to what was mentioned above. In my experience all shaving equipment has been appropriate for daily use...it is just may be a sensitivity issue that would prevent one from using something daily.
I'm a new guy here, and new to wet shaving. I joined last week, during a time I was off from work. I was a little concerned about getting a shave in before work, but it worked out well, so far. I'm not that good or fast at making a lather and doing a 3 pass shave, but it went well this morning. We'll see how it goes as time goes on. There are a lot of helpful people here, and good info. Good luck with your daily shave!
Welcome to the Den.. And yes, I am a daily shaver as well. It was a pain the neck (literally) when using a cartridge or electric razor. However, with a good soap, good brush, good blade, a good DE razor, and practiced technique I enjoy shaving each day and will occasionally shave twice in the same day in case I have something important in the evening as well.
Welcome I definitely have to shave daily so add me to the list the same as the other gents who already mentioned it. The only occasions I don't are the rare lazy Sunday - since I started wet shaving again I look forward to every morning to do it!
Welcome to the den! Before DE shaving I used to shave only on working days. I had to. Now I shave in the weekends as well - for the fun of it! Happy shavings!
and greetings. You have picked the best place to discuss, learn all about classic wet shaving. Yes I am a daily shave and I enjoy wet shaving.
Yup.. I have it on good authority that the Shave Den is considered to be one of the better shaving forums around. Funny I happen to shave every other day but wish I could shave everyday.. got a slow beard.. likes to take it's time . Ya I get a five o'clock shadow.. 5 o'clock the next day.. dang! Used to think I was lucky bout that lol.. welcome and happy shaving.. Joe...
Welcome! I shave everyday. I usually shave at night so I am not rushed and I can wind down before going to bed (I have young children). My face is quite smooth in the morning.
