Randy, It was a first for me. I have to say it was very nice. I love the combo especially with the MW soap. Hopefully the Feather will hold up for at least 3 more shaves. Best, Jesse

Monday, February 27, 2012 Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar Lather: Old Spice - face lather Brush: Simpson's Commodore X2 Razor: Merkur 39C SlantHammer Blade: Voskhod (4); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum Another great shave with the Old Spice and I enjoyed getting back to the slant. I missed a small line along my jaw where I must not have stretched my skin enough to get it super smooth. Still, I really enjoy how smooth of a shaver the slant is and today should also be the day that 100 Voskhods show up on my doorstep (Thanks Joop & Jody!)
My shave was just okay today, just can't show Tet a Tet who's the boss and I'm going too put it way in the back of the cupboard for now.The vintage personna blade was not much help also haven't used the horsehair much these days. But really enjoying the gillette old with the replacement handle, couldn't find that razor anywhere and then found one cheap but the handle was ugly. Hot shower Horsehair #6 Tet-a-Tet Vintage personna blade Gillette w/replacement handle Cold water rinse Draggon Noir
Monday's Shower and Shave A hot shower with Razorock Ginseng. MMMM note to self will need a new bar of soap soon. In honor of Menthol Mondays, I chose a puck of Mystery Soap . Next in the brush line-up was the Omega 48 , lathered up the soap very nicely. Chose the Black Handled SS loaded with a Persona Med Prep. After a a relaxing three pass shave, I splashed my face with polar water splash, facial toner Thayer's Witchhazel, balm Tet-A-Tet. :wave:were excited to rate this DFS, a stunning 10. A great shave starts the tone for the day, puts a spring in your step and a smile.
That razor was a part of Tet-a-Tet Group buy and you better ask Jeff/stingraysrock and Dale/PanChango about how that razor was made, 'cause that was Jeff's idea and Dale's blade! The stamp says 'Warranty cast steel' and it an old nice hefty wedge. Unlucky, I dropped it and damaged a scale a little, so pins get loose wery quickly (seems there is a tiny crack somewhere). Anyway, I pull it out for such 'all-TSD shaves' from time to time.
Monday! New week, new chances! Prep: hot water rinse, hot washing cloth Brush: Wilkinson Sword badger / boar Cream: TSD Wheat Cream Oak Leaves & Acorns Razor: Gillette Flare Tip Rocket Blade: Merkur, 1st shave 3-pass shave + touch-up Post: hot water rinse, cold water rinse, TSD Witch Hazel DFS, though the -new!- blade failed the HHT completely. Felt a bit rougher then the last shave with the flare tip (5th shave with Dovo blade). Will give the blade a run through the Allegro sharpener. See what happens. Oh and the brush fell apart: I dried the brush and held the handle in my hand as the knot fell out! I'll have to glue it again. Have a great week all!
Monday Proraso pre RRxxx soap feather AS feather blade cold water rinse aqua velva 3 pass DFS I think tomorrow will be the Gillette super speed
It's a cool old blade, I think somewhere around 1830-1850 IIRC. I found it in the wild for a few bucks, but it had some damage to the tip and needed to be reprofiled. It has a pretty wicked point to it.
