After having irritation and a couple of nicks over the weekend I went back to the Fat handle tech with Astra blade. close comfortable shave without the irritation. So now I have to figure out if it was the Crystal blades or the Open Comb Tech.

2nd shave with a Kai blade and somehow they remind me of the GEM SE blades, I guess because the Kai is a bit thicker and more rigid then the average DE blade is. I have noticed that, when shaving with my GEM 1924, my skin always feels very well shaven but slightly irritated, especially along the jaw line. And today, it feels the same with the Kai. Not that there was much to be done today, yesterday’s shave was so thorough that 1 pass was more than enough this morning.

Will try a Gillette Platinum tomorrow, a blade not used hither.

They could very easily have called this Bozzano cream the menthol type because it has a great cooling effect. You can really feel the menthol while you're lathering up and shaving, and after a cold water rinse. The Barbon aftershave adds to the freeze so well, and it smells so barbershoppy and nice. This shave was such a pleasure!

 

Have you completely converted to boar? I'm growing more fond of mine every time I use it.

Finished with the boar use for a while, now it's back to my beloved badgers. I'd use the boars more often but, being a face latherer I can't seem to make the brushes hold enough lather, it fizzles to nothing after one pass.
