Tuesday Muhle R106 Gillette Yellow (3 or 4) DVH The Colonel Proraso AS Today was just a quick one pass to take the thick off. My wife and I moved over the weekend and I only got about 2-3 hours of sleep last night so I didn't really care for a fancy shave today...just to look a little more presentable. Good Day everyone.
Tuesday Hot Shower (soak brush,Savile Row 3824) Proraso PrePost cream TOB Avocado shave cream Merkur 39c Slant/Red IP (1) Cold Water Rinse Monster Block Alum (clean brush, razor, police area) Cold Water Rinse The Veg mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 My first shave with a slant and it was a nice one.No weepers or nicks,BBS face & head.I wasn't going to head shave with the slant because I thought it may be too aggressive, but after my first pass on my face I saw how nice and smooth a slant can be.I got probably the closest face and head shave yet,and no razor burn in my trouble spots.
Nice photo Aaron, I want to share some info with you Aaron knowing you are a Brushaolic, over on the UK shaving forum Mark of Simpsons brushes who occasionally post there posted some possible production run for new brushes, i thought you may like to take a look. http://www.theshavingroom.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?tid=12440 Jamie.
Tuesday HOT water rinse Arko Shave Stick-face lathered/add dollap Arko SC to lather-laden brush and face lather the Uber-lather...lather heaven Omega 10029 Baby-Pro boar 1938 Gillette Senator/New Derby Extra/new Perma-Sharp Cold water rinse/Arko-nem moisturizer/Rebul Lavanda Colonia Ohh such a wonderful shave...first two passes with the Derby proved I can get satisfactory results with any top quality blade in my razors....But I wanted to switch to my favorite blade; the Perma-Sharp Super...for the exemplary results I know I'll get...and today was no exception...So sharp it leaves nothing behind...so smooth it just glides and leaves no irritation.... Fantastic shave, now to figure out how to keep my hands off my face in public today.... I'm writting this several hours later...not too successful at keeping my hands off my face I'm affraid...lol....But that's the danger in getting too good a shave....lol
Tuesday, February 28, 2012 Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar Lather: Godrej Lime Fresh - face lather Brush: Vulfix 2234 Super Razor: Merkur 39C SlantHammer Blade: Personna Lab (1); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest Bay Rum BBS today. Focused a bit more on my jawline which I missed a little on yesterday. The Lab Blue blade from 5Savages was very nice and sharp while still smooth. Definitely reminded me of the Med Prep blades which I have one left to use after the Lab Blue for a better comparison. First use of the Godrej and I am quite happy with it. Very easy to lather; great cushion with adequate glide. Definitely not the slickest stuff out there but for < $3, this is a great value cream.
Morning All! Prep: Hot Shower, Tabac Cream + Glycerin Razor: Merkur 23c Blade: Polsilver (3) Cream: Speick Brush: Omega 10005 Post: Thayers WH, Clubman Overall an excellently smooth shave this morning. A bit of stubborn stubble on my chin, but after 3 x 4 pass shaves on a Polsilver, I figure it had a pretty good run. Have a good day!
You used to use that pretty G type nearly every day, but it looks like you're leaning more towards this Aston-Martin looking Hydro-magic these days...Am I correct in my assumption?
Just giving the G1 a rest for awhile. But just for you, I will slide a new blade in it tomorrow and give it a go.

Tuesday Pre-shave: TSD Iced Sub-Zero Pre-Shave Balm Soap: TSD Bamboo & Teak Brush: Handmade Firehouse Pottery with a 22mm Silvertip Razor: '56 Gillette Super Speed Blade: Gillete 7 o'clock Black (the black ninja) Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel w/ 3 drops of m-bomb A/S: Pinaud Citrus Musk Moisturizer: L'Oreal Men's Expert Vita Lift w/ SFP 15 Today's shave was a 3-pass shave that wasn't bad, but I was a bit guilty of chasing the baby. I ended up with one weeper on my upper lip and a little redness on my neck. I seem to go through these stages where I will do a 2 pass shave and end up with a DFS+ and be thrilled with it. I will do that for a while and then one day I will go for a 3-pass and wind up with a very very close to BBS shave and then think, "I can do this every time." So for the next several shaves I do that and then I finally end up at some point with a little irritation or a weeper and then I think, "remember when you were completely happy with your 2-pass DFS+." Then I think, "why are you talking to yourself?" Then the real problem starts because I answer back!
Quit running after a baby with a sharp razor blade in your hands. Shaving isn't an olympic sport... yet!
