A shaver returns from the dead

What a long strange trip it's been, but I think I am back. At 6 47 this am, I shaved 4 days of stubble off my face with my Merkur 37 C slanty, and by 7 30 I was at an event with the cleanest shave at the table. Lunch was a with a wet shaving customer, and we shared 100 Gillette Platinum Blacks, and got 40 free.

Changed out the Crystal blade and went with an Astra SS. Probably one of the best shaves I've had.

Third day in a row with OCMM. Thinking if it can be my everyday razor. I love my 23C and love my straights but OCMM is just the best in terms of shave quality for me.

Once again, smooth as a baby's tush, smelling great, and ready to go. My trusty Super Speed did the job for me and cleaned me up so well with the help of this excellent blade. The Proraso Green soap delivered its rich lather and nice menthol bonus.

4 pass (WWXA) DFS with a setup of all stuff I've never tried before. No weepers, no blood, no irritation, no dragging, no snagging, just pure enjoyment. I didn't both with any touch ups as I'm trying to disciplince myself from going to far on a shave that's already great; I can live with a couple of little rough spots. I have a couple of pimples that are pretty ripe and I was really worried about slicing them, but nothing at all. I haven't shaved for a couple days too, so maybe that helped the process. The flare tip w/ the 7OClock was super smooth, the soap lather was a bit light, but bountiful and really effective. I don't know if the WH did anything, all it did was smell bad (need to get some scent in there). The Conk amber is really nice; wife says it's an old man smell, but I love it

Soap: Mystic Water - Lily of the Valley
Post: Scented witch hazel, Aubrey Organics - City Rhythms

The Shea Moisture brush definitely acted differently than the Vulfix I usually use. The SM brush must not hold as much water. The loading was a little more difficult and went on my face dryer than normal. I added a lot more water than I normally do and ended up with just enough lather for 3 passes. Next time with this brush I won't shake as much water out.

The shave was awesome, perhaps my best shave yet!

I tried a new AS tonight, Aubrey Organics City Rhythms. I bought it because it contains witch hazel and I was looking for something that felt as good on my face as Ogallala AS. My initial impressions are that the AO is not as nice as OBR, I don't love the scent, but I don't dislike it either. My wife doesn't care much for it. She picked out the patchouli in it right away. It's not a long lasting scent in any case.

On Deck: a Ladas blade and back to the Vulfix 660S brush.

Beautiful shave, felt like face lathering today and as I expected the Berkeley just does an amazing job with that, didn't need to add water to the brush at all for all 3 passes or my touch ups, lather just exploded perfectly.

Another nice shave from the ikon/Iridium combo,one small head weeper that closed up with a rinse,it happens.BBS face and head,I used the OC side for all passes today,no razor burn or irritation.
