Razor: Merkur 39C Sledgehammer Slant
Blade: Feather (1); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Osage Rub + Kiehl's Balm

First go with a Feather in the sledgehammer. Very smooth for most of the shave. It did get a bit rough on the neck and I actually missed a small spot under my chin. I'm looking forward to seeing how smooth the next shave is and how long the blade will last.

Fantastic shave today, I am really starting to like the Gillette 7 OC greens. Smooth shaves with zero irritation. That is my kind of shave.

First time for a Menthol Monday. 2 pass with touchup DFS+. I didn't push it too much as the Kai needs a lot more respect than the Artist Club SS.

Monday's Shower and Shave

Hot shower.
I chose the Omega "Midget" to face lathe Tet-A-Tet shave creamlight menthol cooling effect.
The Schick Injector G-8 was chosen for today's shave.
Post shave ritual polar water rinse, Thayer's witch hazel, for toning, then I applied Tet-A-Tet balm.

Three passes the :wave: were happy to award this DFS a 9.

 

I have been looking for one of those mighty midgets over here in the UK and to date I have found no one who stocks them

Monday

The ongoing test of my Gold Dollar 66, tonight's supporting crew were a Simpson 57, Nanny's excellent hard soap "Rasage Traditionnel", Alum and Blue Stratos Aftershave.



This was shave #7 since honing and as is also typical with my "good" razors the edge no longer feels freshly honed. The shave was still excellent, as near BBS as I ever choose to go with a straight, and very comfortable. As it stands so far this blade is showing comparable performance to plenty of my vintage ones. Not bad for a cheapy

Today was an awesome shave for me BBS!!!

Soap: Col. Conk Almond

Cannot say how awesome todays shave was!! The Conk almond Soap is AMAZING! Just a few seconds of swirling the brush over the puck and I had enough in the brush for 4 passes with some left over!! Smells great too...at first I did not care for this scent but it grew on me the next time I used it! The razor and blade combo were just as amazing...I have neglected my Super Speed for a while and it really pulled ranks today...superb BBS shave!!! It was an amazing way to start off my day! Hope everyone had a good one!

3 passes and a BBS. I got a bunch of goodies Saturday that I ordered from shaveabuck.com. I was beginning to sweat it, because I had not gotten any notice that the stuff had even been sent. , Joe was on top of it. I ordered it late night Wed. and got it on Saturday. That is good service. I will post pics in the haul thread soon.

Friend of mines wife gave me the AOS sample… Simply great stuff, just wish it was a scented sample. Set the ADJ to 4 this time for just a bit milder shave, I am getting a little razor burn. One pass WTG and then another XTG for a BBS.

 

Did you hone the razor yourself? I have always wondered about these straights! So they can be deemed shaveable!
