    Surrey SS (pre VDH reformulation)
    Caron 'Yatagan' AS (1970s version)
    Caron 'Yatagan' EdT (1970s version)

Third shave with this frankenrazor/blade combo and whew.........really a nice set up. The classic mild razor/sharp blade combo works extremely well for me.

The vintage Yatagan has more pop than the currently made juice............lots more celery/pine notes. The newer version's good also, but this old juice really tickles me.

    BBS results,

Very quick shave today, one pass with minor clean up, super smooth. will be heading to the parcel force office a little later to pay my duty charges to the robbers called parcel force, they are holding my vintage new old stock Fon Golden Star straight razor hostage since it arrived from Japan over a week ago.

I really owe it to myself to shave more often with the Euro Palmolive Classic cream because it's so good. It lathers like a champ, it smells nice, and the skincare is perfect. The Hega aftershave from Sweden is wonderful as well - one of the few alcohol-based products which doesn't have any sting. ;) :D

    Thursday:

Hot Shower (soak brush,Savile Row 3824)
    Proraso PrePost cream
TOB Lemon and Lime shaving cream mixed with 2 drops of M-Bomb
    ikon OSS/Personna Med (3)
    Cold Water Rinse
Monster Block Alum (clean brush, razor, police area)
    Cold Water Rinse
Pitralon Classic mixed with a pea sized amount of 444

I've been just using the OC head of the ikon and I must say it's nice and smooth, but I did get a lil spoiled by the r41 when doing my head shave. Those trouble spots that the R41 took out in one pass took several with the ikon.Still I can't complain BBS all around and smoother than the R41.I did a 3 pass on my face and one pass ATG on the dome, plus some touch-ups.

Prep: Hot shower; Yardley bath bar
    Lather: Cella - face lather
    Brush: Semogue 1438
    Razor: Sledgehammer Slant
    Blade: Feather (2); 3 passes
Post: Cold water rinse; Krampert's Finest bay rum

First go with the Semogue 1438 that I received Monday along with the 820. Having 2 new boars at once is about perfect as I can alternate them to give each a full wet/dry cycle for breaking in. I'll be adding in a 3rd boar as soon as my DVH makes it from overseas! I'm really liking boars now. I must have had a dud in my previous one, the 1250. It doesn't lather anything as well as these brand new ones do. The 1438 and Cella provided the perfect stage for the Sledgehammer to smoothly create a BBS symphony on my face. Only thing that will make this day better now is for my daughter to decide it's time to be born!

I really like the look of that Kent brush. Would you mind telling me how you like it? I've got a couple cheap-o boar military brushes from Sally Beauty Supply ($2.49 ea) and like them, but I definitely have my eyes on Kent brushes (for shaving and hair).

    Thursday it is!

    Pre: Hot Shower, Glycerin
    Razor: Merkur 23c
    Blade: Shark Super Stainless (1)
    Cream: European Palmolive
    Brush: Omega 10005
Post: Thayers WH Lemon, Cold Rinse, Captain's Choice Bay Rum

I'm right in the thick of testing lots of new blades, so I've found some that I don't get along with. This mornings shave was easily the best I have had in the last while. Absolutely ZERO irritation whatsoever, and dang smooth to boot. Ive used the SC plenty of times before, but I'll use one next shave to see how they compare.

Todays shave was great! Used my recently acquired German made boar brush for the second time! Yesterday I bowl lathered with it and it did ok.....but today I face lathered with it and its a freakin beast!!

    Soap: Arko Shave Stick
    Razor: EJ89
    Blade: Gillette 7 O'Clock Blue
    Post Shave: Clubman Pinaud Original
    Cologne: Vitos "Tobacco"
    Brush: German Made Boar

Can anyone help me identify what kind of brush this is...the label is half way torn off but I dont think it would even have the brand on it if the entire label were there....I can make out part of the word "sterilized" at the top of the label...in the middle it says "pure bristles"...then at the bottom it says "made in Germany"...anyone have any idea what it could be? I absolutely love this brush and I must do it justice by finding its maker!
