MAMA MIA! PIF *DONE*

Greetings! I love food! I love to eat food and I love to cook! Most of all I love to make Italian food! The fresh cheese, home made pasta, and pizza...it is all to die for! So I thought I would share my love for things Italian with you!



In this PIF you have the chance to receive some of the best soap and aftershave (IMO) on the market. I am giving away a brand new pot of Proraso Green soap and Proraso Aftershave.

There are some simple rules to this PIF and yes, I will ship worldwide!

I married an Italian just for her cooking (not really). Her lasagna is my favorite dish. But she usally only makes it on New Years Day. This is not an original pic. But I finally got a camera today (4 my birthday) so I will see if she will make it a post a real pic. Thanks for the cool PIF.

I love to cook, although admittedly since getting married, my wife does the majority of the cooking. Unfortunately, here in the desert we rely on the dining facilities to provide all our food. I don't have access to a kitchen at all, bummer. But our break room does have a microwave! So I was able to prepare these dishes recently. Don't be jealous. And incidentally, I've been sick over the last week, and chicken noodle soup is one of my favorite dishes when I'm sick.

Oh, the little things, ya know.

I was never over there but have spent many a night sleeping on a cot in a desert with nothing but dirt and lizards. We didn't have microwaves but we would get an occasional visit from a roach coach and a bottle of Gatorade or a Snickers bar when all you've had is MREs or some gross a$$ field kitchen chow is a huge upgrade to life.

 

I'm not the greatest cook but here is my dinner tonight that is one of my favorites and a big comfort food from my childhood - black beans and rice
You can't really see it in the beans but the ajíce and recao is the key.

 

I'm in with this real deal country aged ham. From a few years ago. So good!

My 10 year old made some of my favorite dessert, creme brulee

 

Being an Indian my favourite dish is Mutton Biryani ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biryani).

Those who aren't familiar with this dish - it is a dish made of rice and lamb meat prepared with ghee (clarified butter), nutmeg, mace, pepper, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, bay leaves, ginger, onions, garlic and saffron. The whole thing is slow cooked.

There are many varieties. Some varieties may be spicier but the one that we have in Kolkata is less spicy.
