This Taylor of Old Bond Street lavender may be my new favorite. In fact, in general now, I'm liking creams more than hard soaps.

Having used this for 4 days now, I find that even with my not-so-ultra-high-quality Escali badger, I can get it worked into a lather faster and easier than Rosie O'Donnell at an all-you-can-eat buffet. And, it feels like it provides a great cushion, and smells great. I'm definitely a fan.

I'm not, though I do need a new career! Hey, I've got this deal on swamp land, . . .

Seriously though, I think you'll like it! ;)

I have only tried TOBS Sandalwood cream thus far, but as for the brand, TOBS make some serious players in the shaving game, really love the scent, strong and sticks around, plus it makes some phenomenal lather. TOBS tends to be more on the expensive side, but I think its worth every penny. Cant wait to try some more, may have to try the Lavender.

I just got some lemon-lime, and will probably crack it open tomorrow. I'm expecting it to be interesting, if not ultimately a favorite.

Same here only have the TOBS Sandalwood. Love the scent of it. It is a great shaving cream! But mark_s I think you have sold me on the Lavender. I may be ordering it today.

I have found that it's not too expensive. More so than some brands, but - like the other "mid-level" brands - it's a good deal. Now if we want to talk expensive, then check this out ...

I love all TOBS creams but I find the scent of AOS lavendar to be a bit more appealing.

Not to highjack this thread, but can anyone comment on what the TOBS Mr. Taylor or the TOBS Shaving Shop creams smell like? Also, do you like them in a tube or the bowl?

I do not regard myself as having sensitive skin........but TOBS lavendar is the only cream I have a reaction to. I absolutely love everything else!

Mr. Taylor is relatively modern sort of scent, compared to most of the TOBS line, but I'm not sure how to describe it beyond that.

Have used mine 2 times now. Just got some. My other cream is cella, and wow is it different. I put way to much on brush the first time because it is so soft. I really like it. I don't love my brush yet though.

"XPEC Original Shaving Cream facilitates shaving thanks to the formation of a soft, rich foam which helps to life beard hairs. It contains glycerin, with its powerful moisturizing properties and coconut extract to produce a hydrating action on the skin, leaving it soft and protected at the end of the shaving process. The presence of Aloe not only contributes to the soothing soreness, but also bears antiseptic properties. The scent contains notes of wild thyme, lemon, tuberose, fennel, pepper, ginger, cedar wood and oak musk."

Smell like like my spice drawer for $80? sign me up! And look- it ships for free! you can't beat that.

Well, other than the fact you could buy 20 years worth of williams soap or 2 1/2 years worth of Maca Root Shave Cream (If you get the buy 2 get one free special they run a couple times a year) or 3 years worth of The Shave Den Wheat Cream. On second thought I guess I'll pass on the XPEC. I xpec more for my money, thanks.

I have the Mr. Taylor's talc. Thumbs down for the scent, but I'm not sure how the cream smells. Tell you what, though, how the talc can be called modern is beyond me. I feel like my 87-year-old bowtie-wearing grandfather when I put this on.
