Hey, Mike. Last night I face loaded DVH and right before I took the brush to my face, I just kept the puck in my hand and twirled the brush on it for about 5 secs. Just enough to get a little soap on the brush before going to the face. Kinda puts soap on soap instead of using a "dry" brush. Hope that helps.

Wednesday Prep: Hot shower, soak brush CD: Muddy Waters ~ The Essence of Muddy Waters Coffee: Home roasted, fresh ground Kenya/Ethiopia blend, BLACK Soap: TSD Cedarwood Brush: Omega 49, the RED one Tech: '66 Ball End Travel Tech Blade: Astra SP, day 3, 3+ passes Post: Cold water rinse, Brut ASB, Brut cologne, hand strop blade Not bad. Technique is very important with this razor. The cardinal rule when using a safety razor is NO PRESSURE, let the weight of the razor do the work. Many times the best way to do this is to hold the razor at the very end of the handle. Well, the Travel Tech has no weight or any real handle to give much room for moving down. One has to hold the razor directly under the head and be very aware of how much pressure they are using. Attention to technique, along with the right blade, and these little guys can give a pretty decent shave.

Wednesday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/new Shark Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Lubriderm unscented moisturizer Alt Innsbruck AS Obsession For Men EDT After a frigid shave like this I feel so good - the menthol of this Palmolive cream is so potent and nice, and the scent is great. The Alt Innsbruck aftershave is also loaded with menthol as well as having a great scent which doesn't compete with an eau de toilette.

Wednesday Gillette Black Handle Gillette Spoiler Penworks Finest MEM Olive SC Sea of Spa ASB - sensitive It was the first shave I have had for the past few days. Shaves like these are always welcome! The Penworks seems super floppy...but I am used to stiffer brushes. The MEM...I forgot how much I LOVE that cream. The scent is amazing, as is all the other aspects of it. After 2 passes, the SoS ASB was a nice finishing touch.
