Good morning, my fellow Knights of the lathering brush and the keen edge! I trust this short post finds you well! My particular Moment of Zen (Jody really coined a memorable expression with that one…) today happened again at the Gym and consisted of: Calani Simply Soap shave stick Mühle travel shave brush in Nickel, with Silver Tip Fibre ’60 British Gillette Flare Tip Rocket BIC Chrome Platinum blade (2.) Speick Men after shave Great shave after a painfully intense workout. But hey, no pain, no gain as the saying goes.. The soap produced a wonderfully slick lather, the BIC performed very well on its second run (they always do, don’t they?) and I really like the Rocket. Hope you’ll all have an at least equally pleasurable shave and a great weekend ahead!
A little late. This is actually last nights shave: Wade and Butcher Straight Custom turned handle with 22mm best (thanks Rodd) Mystic Waters Cedar and Sage Super Duper extra mentholated Aqua Velva
Friday, April 20, 2012 - Midnight Shave Prep :: Warm water wetdown Razor :: BRW Progress Blade :: Personna Med. Prep (5) Soap :: Mystic Water Marrakesh + RR King Louis Brush :: Bill Jack Badger Post :: Alum, Cold water rinse, WH & Rosewater AS :: Captain's Choice Bay Rum & TSD Bay Rum Milk I got bored with using just one soap for a shave so I combined two of my favorite soft soaps. I swirled the brush on the RR and then on the MW and back and forth until the brush was fully loaded. Sweet, slick shave. Why, I might try Vintage Williams and P.160 next. I continue my experiment to see how long a PMP blade will last. Tonight was number 5 and it felt better than number 1. Have a great weekend Den Friends!

Friday Fatboy (thanks Jeff) Red Personna The Colonel TSD SOTQ 2012 Mandom I decided to try out the fatboy that I received from Jeff. I had it on 5 most of the time (9 for the XTG pass on my neck), and I can see why people like them. They are very nice to use! The SOTQ from JoAnna is amazing! It took a few seconds to find the lather's sweet spot, but when I did it was creating amazing lather! The scent is amazing too! All in all it was a good shave...a great DFS!

Friday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 5 Iced Subzero SS Diana Sport Menthol Balsam Obsession For Men EDT Every time I use JoAnna's world champion Iced Subzero soap I know I'm guaranteed to get a freezing effect that I'll love, with great lather and skincare. The scent is also very much to my liking, and the slickness and blade glide are perfect. A little Diana Sport balsam makes the end of a shave so nice and frigid. Sorry, no pictures this morning!
Friday Schick E2 (I think) Schick blade Semogue 1438 Proraso green Floid Blue First shave with the Schick E2, at least I think it's an E2. It came in yesterday, I will post some shocking before and after pics in The Haul. Is it strange to fall in love with a razor? Not around here, I hope. What a great little performer, and what a great little screamer: it is by far the loudest razor I own. Great sound, great shave.

Salter - French Vetiver Shaving Cream Post: 5Savages After Shave AS: Every Man Jack Face Lotion - Signature Mint DFS The Rapira Swede was a little better on the second shave. It's shaving a lot like the Ladas did for me, which means it may work better in a Tech than in my 38M. I'll try that some time in the future. Big hits of vetiver tonight, with a pre-lather of Sara-s' vetiver soap followed by CRS Vetiver cream. This was the first time using the CRS Vetiver SC. It was also my first use of cream in a tub. I thought I got enough cream on my brush but I had to squeeze the lather out of it for my third pass. The cream seem to take a lot of water but hit a wall at one point and started getting thin as it mixed with the rinse water on my face.
