Staffordshire ironstone jug and wash bowl No markings on this set but very nice. I managed to get both sets for £8.00
I was the winning bidder of this Ever Ready Nylon bristle brush. Is this brush in usable condition? How do go about cleaning and sanitizing it.?
Is it usable? You'll only know if you use it. I have several vintage brushes with their original knots. I just washed 'em up with anti-bacterial soap, then a practice lather to check it out. Haven't had any issues... yet.
found this segal razor ive never seen one before strange shape..im guessing i wont be able to find this
The joy of proprietary blades! But there are many people who use their Segal razors by going through the trouble of snipping modern blades with a good pair of scissors, to fit. If I recall correctly, there was someone on another forum that went so far as to have a punch made by a machine shop so that he could just place it on top of a modern blade, hit it with a hammer and WALLLAHHHhhhh! Instant modern Segal blade. The things we go through to make "it" work....
Well I have had my eye on the 2011 R41 for a while. So I went ahead and ordered it, along with a Merkur Bakelite that was 50% off on the same site. Been wanting to try a Bakelite for some time. At the price I paid, if I don't like it I can just PIF it. Also coming this week is a 59' Fatboy
Too lazy to post a pic, but I got my vergulde hande (sp?) fris today along with a pack of Derby blades from our store. The soap really smells nice. I hope it performs as well! The pack of Derbys is for a certain lime-loving cat that some of you know who may be visiting in a few months.
I have one. Thought about paying to have someone create a punch for me, but it was way too costly. It did have a couple of blades with it when I bought it. I've used it twice and wasn't impressed at all. Problem is, not being able to try different blades, I'll never know if it's rough blades or a lousy razor.
I tried the regular one back in my newbie days and didn't care for it. Probably, I didn't know what I was really doing. In any case, I just did a one-pass shave during my post-gym shower and I'm quite pleased with the soap. Very slick indeed!
I actually was home on Sunday and found a bunch of goodies had arrived. I have not purchased much lately, so I had to make up for lost time. -Arko cool and aqua ASB, these have been working out very well for travelling. -Mem shave cream, didn't realize the tube was that big, but I have heard good things. -arko ice mint shave cream, giving it a try -replacement proraso asb, the wife and daughter love this. killed the old one. -proraso splash, tried once and I like -proraso green, killed the old one -Barbon splash, smelled very nice, much to nice for work. -Gillette 7O'Clock super platinum blue blades -a gift from one vendor of Arko after shave cream-sport, another one that looks good for travel -a gift from another vendor of bulgarian lavender, can't read the picture (bad me). so I'm stocked up for a bit now, just looking for some other blades.
mechguy, i think you will be happy w/ those gillette blues. when i bought my muhle r41 from shoebox shaver...he threw a pack of those in & told me to try them....ive used them for 2 weeks & very happy...if you dont like them pm me & ill take them edit...not used in my muhle r41
No pics yet, but got 3 Irisch Moos Shave Sticks for my hoard (bought it from a reputable vendor who did not gouge me). Plus, got my promotional container of Fume from Shave-a-Buck. My wife's reaction? "You got MORE shaving stuff???" Lol, wait till she sees my package from TSD!
Got in 2 of these today, mint in the box still screwed to the shipper bottom. They were made in England, in 1986.
