It was a wonderful shave this morning! Most welcome after 4 days of nothing. I went with the proraso as I started up my running again and I was overheating like mad. The menthol felt amazing!

Darn near BBS, but a bit of razor burn to get there. I need to get this blade to Glen for a professional re-hone. Just not a very comfortable shave.

Saturday Morning Shaving Ritual, May 19, 2012

Razor: 69 Slimline Gillette Adjustable (set on 6)
    Blade: Treet (new blade)
Brush: Semogue 830 (First use not too shabby)
    Cream: Williams Shaving Soap
A/S: Alum Bar & Cold Water Rinse
    A/S: Everyman Jack Shaving Balm

I appreciate all the help. I used a new blade in my razor but left it set at 6. I got a DFS shave today, one nick and no weepers. Still experiencing a little razor burn from the shave yesterday but much less today. I think Derby blade is just not as sharp as some of the others in my sampler pack.
    :thanks: all!

    BBS!

I hope these cream samples are not representative of the tubs of cream. The GFT is so pasty I had to smear it on my face, rather than put it on my brush prior to face lathering or it would never have been fully incorporated into the lather. On the other extreme, the T&H was like a thicker ASB. The T&H Limes has a stonger, more tangy scent than GFT. I'm not a huge fan of either scent, but they're tolerable.

I'm coming to the realization that I don't particularly care for T&H ASB. I'm tempted to quit using it, rather than use it up.

DFS, but a bit rough shave. I guess it could use some honing & stropping.

Ogallala Bay Rum and Lemongrass Soap
    Simple Facial Toner
    Rosehip Oil
    Pashana Original AS
    Brylcreem Original

No shave yesterday and Carbon Blades rust fairly quickly, so I had another session with the Fatip. I have a number of synthetic brushes from men-U, Frank Shaving and HJM/Muhle. To date I have not used the Silvertip Fibre travel brush which I got last week. If it is better than the Black Fibre....it will be very impressive, The Black Fibre has just enough backbone, is soft on the face, and I swear.....it would get lather out of a stone!
A top notch shave with 2 passes and a touchup :happy088:

Now that the warm weather is here it is time to break out the heavy menthol artillery more often. The Lea Menthol cream with its gorgeous scent (which I cannot describe!) and rich lather felt so icy and heavenly. The Diana Sport balsam from Austria can literally freeze a guy's face off! ;) :D

I'm on my last pack of Treet / CVS blades. Wanted to use up these carbon steel blades, after which I'll stick with the stainless ones.

Every time I use this razor I'm amazed that something from 1907 is this close to ideal.

Hadn't used the Tweezerman in a while, I guess; it was my first brush and still gets the job done. My Cella has changed color, acquiring a slight brownish tinge, but still appears to be fine.

Great 3 pass face one pass head shave with the OCMM,BBS all around.I decided to mix the Lavanda and the RazoRock like I would 444,the results were great, but I may have used too much RazoRock and got a lil white coating my face. But I just rubbed it in more and all was well.My skin feels great I just have to remember to use less wax than I would with 444.It seems a lil RazoRock aftershave wax goes a very long way.
