Holy necro-post, Batman! Fun topic, though. I keep going back to the Lord. Razor, that is. I recently re-bought a Lord three piece tech clone. I had one and PIF'd it. Missed it so much I bought another. I'm keeping this one.
Its to be expected I suppose........since I originally voted for the Futur in this poll things have moved on. Now I also have the choice of the Fatip,IkonOC and The Artist Club SS along with several others. Now it would have to be the AC SS,.....and that is because I haven't tried my new Cobra Classic yet RAD is a wonderful thing!!!!!
Lately I've been favoring razors that are long, thick and light-handled..so right now it's the Gillette Knack...
Funny how things go. Initially it was Flare Tip SS, then Slim Adjustable, Slant, and now back to basics with the classy Edwin Jagger. At least for DE's. My straights I favor my Dovo Best, I don't favour a great deal of decoration on my blades really.
Since getting the Merkur 180, my razor acquisition disorder has been in remission, and I haven't used any of the other razors I have. I change blades daily, and I've experienced nothing but great shaves with any blade I've used, including Derby, which had caused me some discomfort in other razors.
I guess it would be a toss up between the Gillette Ranger Tech, Gillette Fat Boy or the Weber DLC 3-Piece I keep trying others but keep coming back to these three.
Nice vintage thread. Only DE choices? I can always pick up my Schick E2 or Schick type O with confidence. And perhaps surprisingly, my Kampfe SCS lather catcher is beginning to edge out the other SEs. I've got so many good razors, though.
2011 R-41 for me. Nothing else beats it but a close second is the EJ/Muhle 89. The only two razors I use anymore.
My Gillette tuckaway is the razor I debate picking up almost everyday. I get consistently good shaves from it more than any of my other razors.
What the hey, I'll cast a vote in a four and a half year old zombie thread. Other. 1912 Gem Damaskeene.
For DE, it is hands down, the Weber. ARC or DLC, long handle or short heavy bulldog handle. For SE it would be the 1912 GEM Damaskene. For best razor, period, it's the Weber.
I voted Futur, because it is my favorite DE. In practice, I use straights most of the time these days.
