Wifey's lady gillette showed up today , amazed at the condition. Seller mislabled it as an adjustable so I was the only bidder $8 lady gillette..... yes please
Found this in a local antique shop for $5. If anyone could tell me what model it is I would appreciate it as I know very little about the differences between models. (I would guess a G but ???)
Thanks for the info and the link. ETA and a big Thank You to Jody for compiling/maintaining such great info.
Jody is certainly maintaining the information on Schick injectors and I along with many others are greatly appreciative of his effort. I don't think he compiled the information, however. I believe the gentleman who did is named Alan Appleby. So while the original site is now history it's great of Jody to keep the information available to us all. Cheers to both Jody and Mr. Appleby!
Deep in the throes of Schick RAD. Another Golden 500. Two is one and one is none. Damn near NOS only lacking dummy blade.
This is correct, mostly. When the original site died, I "rescued" the info, put it on my site and have been adding my own info and new images to it ever since. It's a valuable resource and I just couldn't let it die. Too much of a hassle to dig through Google's archive to find it and those archives can't be edited with new information.
Excellent Jody. I hadn't picked up on the additional info & pics. Again thanks for keeping the info accessible & also for keeping it alive by adding to it. Cheers sir!
Received an order from Giftsandcare.com today. A couple of items didn't make the photo, a La Toja Shaving soap stick and a MWF refill. The two brushes are a Vie-Long 14832m and a Vie-long 13061 I asked giftsandcare.com to set the loft on both brushes at 50mm. The 13061 is usually set to 60mm and the 14832m is usually set to 55mm. I've done a test lather with each and I really like the feel of the 13061. Almost feels like my Rooney silvertip. The hair is dense and super soft. I'll know more when it actually goes to apply lather to my face in the morning.
I must have gotten a bad 13061. Mine was so scritchy I got rid of it. I couldn't imagine the one I had with a 10mm shorter loft.
was your the 13061 or the 13061m. IMHO the natural horse hair seems to have a bit more scritch than the dyed. I'll find out in the morning.
Vintage carbons FTW. Two days growth this morning; pulled one out for a quick ride in the Twinplex and loaded it into an Aristocrat. DFS/near BBS with just the right amount of carbon pull and no nicks. It's lonesome being the only guy on this board who has more fun trying out a variety of old blades than old razors. But then, it leaves more for me!
