I don't know how much colder it could get than this - Godrej Menthol Mist cream is one HELL of a great face-freezer, and the combination of the Diana Sport balsam and the Osage Rub might be too strong for certain guys. I personally love it, but not everyone's a menthol freak like I am!

 

Good morning.

Shave Nr. 3 with the Merkur Futur. Slowly but surely we are becoming acquainted to each other, the shaves are quite enjoyable:

Feather Klinge (5th shave)
D.R. Harris Marlborough after shave

First pass was done with the Futur set at 2.5. For the second pass XTG I applied the Musgo pre-shave and dialed the Futur up to 3. Very nice & DFS!

Nice & comfortable DFS. My lathering technique wasn't at its best today. Too thin, too much water.
Found the flower pot yesterday when busy gardening. So I thought: how would it be as a lathering mug? Answer: perhaps a bit too large. Try again tomorrow.

I am really enjoying the Black Fibre brush. I have been using it on consecutive days for some time now with different soaps and creams......and I must say...it is an excellent performer. One thing for sure....if I used it constantly, my life time's supply of creams and soap has become two lifetimes. It uses so little product to produce a fantastic lather. Today I had a truly excellent 3 pass shave.

The coconut oil in the La Famiglia soaps is awesome for my skin. Leaves me very well moisturized without any greasiness and I've not found another soap that consistently leaves my face/neck feeling this good. I am very pleased that I picked up all 4 scents so that I can use the same soap for long periods without getting bored and enjoy these great benefits that I'm seeing. The Zi' Peppino is quickly becoming my favorite scent of all my soaps!

It's been a long time since I broke out the Futur I forgot what a great face and head shaver it can be.I did a 3 pass face my usual 1 pass head, BBS all around,very smooth shave with the Red Ip's .

Results: DFS near BBS. I have to say using all the Nomad stuff at once is amazing. It glides like butter and my face feels amazing. Zero irritation and silky smooth, which is nice coming off a really bad shave on Saturday. This is the second time I've used the Body Shop synthetic brush and I have to say I'm not cray about it. It feels nice and soft but it doesn't seem to make lather like my others, it always seems like I can't put it on my face as thick as I'd like to. Oh well still a fantastic shave to start the week. Happy Memorial Day Everybody!

Memorial Day is a time when we all must give thanks to those brave men who gave their last full measure so we may enjoy the privilage of a safe and full life. Remembering those who gave and those who stand guard today!

Lots of Vintage used this morning. The Williams SS has been used for generations although it has been reformulated to remove the tallow content. The Old Spice has been reformulated as well but, these products still carry on the traditions of the past generations that enjoyed these fine products. The Rubberset Barbershop Boar was the staple for most Barbershops around the country from as far back as I can remember (and that's a very long time considering my ever advancing age!) lol The Slack & Grinold Bath Works plant has long been out of service but their razors carry on the great traditions of the Sheffield razor works and the products that used to be the preferred shave equipment. One famous customer discovered just how dangerous these daily shaves could be.



On the morning of October 25, 1957, Anastasia entered the barber shop of the Park Sheraton Hotel at 870 7th Avenue (now the Park Central Hotel, on 56th Street and 7th Avenue) in Midtown Manhattan. Anastasia's bodyguard parked the car in an underground garage and then took a walk outside, leaving Anastasia unprotected. As Anastasia relaxed in the barber chair, two men—scarves covering their faces—rushed in, shoved the barber out of the way, and fired at Anastasia. After the first volley of bullets, Anastasia allegedly lunged at his killers. However, the stunned Anastasia had actually attacked the gunmen's reflections in the wall mirror of the barber shop. The gunmen continued firing and Albert Anastasia finally fell to the floor, dead.
