    Menthol Monday:

    Turkish Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Shark
Mama Bear Awakenings SS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Diana Sport Menthol Balsam :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily::Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Although the weather here will be getting cooler, I still feel that I wanted to take as face-freezing a shave as possible. The Awakenings soap is almost as frigid as ISZ, (damn, I cannot find that ISZ stuff) and the Diana Sport balsam is even colder than 444 - in fact, I think it's even a little colder than Alcolado Glacial or Osage Rub, and the menthol effect lasts a long time. ;) :D

    OCMM
GEM (SS, Ted Pella PTFE) (d1)
EJ DE86 w Gillette Silver Blue for neck TU
    Arko Stick
    Ever Ready Boar 100T
    Old Spice Pure Sport
Result: BBS again. Most of my issues with the OCMM are in final neck touch-ups, so I have started using the EJ for that, and the combined results are "pure perfection." This is helping me get more "face-time" with the OCMM. Hope to not need the EJ this way in time.

Prep: Tepid Water Shower, Brush soaking in hot water
    Razor: GEM Junior
Blade: CVS Carbon Single Edge Blade (2)
Brush: 1950's Stanley Flat Top Badger Hair Brush
    Cream: TSD Wheat Cream Sandalwood
    Soap: TSD Sandalwood
    AS: Aqua Velva Musk
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Naturally Fresh Alum, Second Rinse, Double Splash of Aqua Velva Musk.

I loaded the brush with about 10 swirls of the TSD soap, then a dap and swirl into the TSD wheat cream. Once again the results where the same, the TSD really shows it colors by using hot water. The entire bowl was overflowing with a rich and creamy lather, enough for 10 passes if not more.

First pass on face was like a hot knife through butter, although I have never heard butter make the sound of whiskers being shaved off ;) On the neck my first pass is always from south to north. The amount of audio feedback from the GEM's is one thing I really love about them, as it sounded liked bulldozer plowing through a forest.

The second pass is from ear to nose direction on both my face and neck, but at a slight angle. Could not hear one whisker being cut on my face, but the lather proved other wise.

No third pass needed on face, so the remainder of the shave was buffing and touch ups on neck and at jawline.

Better than a DFS, but less than a BBS, no matter how you slice it, a nice shave overall. I would rate todays shave a 8, only because I was not able to acheive a BBS.

Great shave today. Love them old Ern razors. Well, at least it's a nice way to start what's going to be an insane week. Have a good one. I plan on rescaling this razor at some point again.

FWIW, I noticed that when I fake a slant cut (diagonally swipes) with the OCMM, my neck gets cleaner faster. I've never had to utilize this approach with any other razor, and logic dictates it really shouldn't make a difference, but it seems to bring better results on that tricky neck hair.

Whoa baby! One of the best shaves I've ever had. I did 3-passes this morning even though I only really needed 2. I chased the baby and didn't even feel bad about it. That baby was crawling so slow I had no problem catching it. Beautiful BBS. It doesn't happen all that often, but when it does...................:git:Have a great day everyone!

    T&H Ultimate Comfort SC
Merkur 23c w/ Gillette Super Thin
    Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
    Nivea Sensitive lotion
    Master Bay Rum

DFS by means of wtg, xtg. After an extended weekend, I overslept and was running late to work ... . My typical solution for a quick shave is an abbreviated two passes with a dab of T&H in the brush for a super quick face lather.

First use of Gillette Super Thin blades ... my initial assessment is: an adequately sharp, forgiving, and comfortable blade in my 23c. :2thumbs: Glad I tried it. I'll definitely see how the blade performs long-term over multiple blades.

My first shave with the Super Adjustable. I set it on Four and received a DFS. The Cyril Salter produced copious amounts of beautiful lather but I did not care for the scent.

I'm intrigued by the Ice Cube rub. I've seen you post this many times. It's not something I've really heard about, but it certainly sounds nice on a hot summer day! Would you be willing to elaborate on what breaking out the ice cubes does for you?
