    Pre-shave: Hot shower, hair conditioner
Soap: RazoRock La Famiglia Zi Peppino
    Brush: AOS Travel Brush
    Razor: Schick E2
    Blade: Schick
Post-shave: warm water rinse, cold water rinse, witch hazel
A/S balm: RazoRock La Famiglia ZI Peppino

Another BBS today! That's two days in a row; a first for that. When I got to work this morning my boss told me I smelled good. That was another first. Yea Zi Peppino!! I told her that I wish I felt as good as I smelled. Me and the fam will be going to Tahoe on Saturday for a week and I can't be sick! I would almost rather get sick right now so that I have a couple day to recoup before we leave. This sucks. Anyway, have a great day everyone!

    Hot Shower
    Proraso PrePost cream
    Tabac shave soap
    Gillette SS W1/Red IP (3)

Monster Block Alum (clean hardware & software, police area)
Cold Water Rinse & another ice cube rub
Thayer's Rose petal WH mixed with some Robert's Rosewater
    Tabac splash

Today was Tabac day here, usually I add some 444 but I don't recall ever doing the Tabac splash straight up,so today I tried it.Not bad, pretty soothing,I don't feel the need for a balm or milk, but I still miss the 444 menthol hit.Today's shave was one of my better ones,3 pass face,1 pass head,BBS all around.I have to say Gillette got it right back in the day, this 40's style SS may be mild but it sure is efficent,no burn or irritation.I know a lot has been said about mild vs aggressive, but efficent is efficent no matter if it's mild or wild.

The blade was getting near the end of its life....so I just had a DFS 2 pass maintenance shave. You never look your best during a 15 hr night shift anyway:(

    Tuesday 26th June

    Hot shower and Facial scrub
    Proraso Sensitive Pre/Post shave cream
Feather Artist Club RG/Feather Super Professional blade
    New Forest 222 HMW Silvertip
    Vulfix Lavender Cream
Alum Block followed by a few drops of Argan Oil
    Pashana Original Cologne
    Morgan's Classic Pomade

Finally managed to catch up with my posts. The SSD on my 4 year old netbook died on Sunday night. I had bought a replacement about a year ago when I suspected that all was not well....however I looked at the price and not the specs so I had to overcome the dreaded Broadcom/Linux wifi problem. I am now up and running:happy088:

My post night duty shave was the best I have ever had with the RG. BBS in 2 passes and a little touch up.

On my 5th or 6th shave with the Semogue and getting a crappy lather be it cream, soap, or shave stick. Tried breaking it in with conditioner but so far not envying the brush at all. Got a horrible lather and ended up breaking out my Omega. Besides the brush dilemma I really enjoyed the shave and the smell of the Grafton was very nice.

Don't put conditioner on a boar brush. Let the brush soak about half way up in warm water for about 15-20 minutes before you try to build a lather. Lightly shake out the excess water or let it just drain naturally, then start to build your lather. I have 10 different Semogue brushes and all lather like crazy, any soap or cream I throw at them. I hate to say it, but my two Omega boars are setting in a box in the top of my closet.

Prep: Tepid Water Shower, Brush soaking in hot water
Razor: EJ DE89 on iKon Bulldog Handle
    Blade: SuperMax Super Platinum
Brush: Vie-Long Sardinero 13800 Horse Hair Brush
Shaving Cream: TSD Wheat Cream Sandalwood
    Shaving Soap: TSD Sandalwood
    AS: Pinuad Clubman
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Naturally Fresh Alum, Second Rinse, Bath of Clubman.

I am always surprised out how good the DE89 performs, especially when paired with the iKon handle. Although it is a mild head I can get a BBS in just two faces passes, three neck passes and light buffing on my neck.

The Vie-Long Brush has pretty much been handed over to my wife, as she loves it. I had ordered two of these, one for me, and one for my brother. On my particular brush it did not bloom well at all and the center lacks hair density,

Applying the lather was was very sloppy, had a bunch go into my nostrils, but it worked well enough to the job done. I am always happy to see an insane amount of whiskers in the lather after a pass.

    I would rate today's shave an 8.

This was my second shave with Arco. It worked very well and took very little product to make an excellent lather for three passes with enough left over for a few additional passes. First time with the black handle Flair Tip and a new Astra blade and I was disappointed. I received a near BBS shave but my entire face and neck was irritated. The Arco is not at fault because this did not happen the first time I used it. This needs some more experimentation. The scent of the Meehan Bay Rhum was great but seemed to be short lived.

Ray, the Black Handle Flair Tip is a very mild razor and is so smooth and light that it seems to not be cutting the whiskers (as aggressively as a red tip or similar razor for axample) which results in subconsciously applying too much pressure when using it. This will result in some burn as the Astra is a very sharp blade and the added pressure is damaging the skin. I use the Black Handle SS with an Astra and it always delivers a very mild, close and comfortable shave but, I don't use too much pressure; just let the razor do it's thing. Give it a try again; next time be conscious of the pressure and I think you will be fine. :)

2+pass DFS. Not a bad shave today but as I was using my trimmer to trim my beard length the guard popped off and I almost lost a sideburn. Luckily I caught it and evened out the length across my face. Still I have very light facial hair and it is really short. Oh well life goes on.

Brian, I swear that the Ice & a Slice has some of the most wonderful lather and skincare I ever experienced from a soap. That menthol effect is awesome also - it begins as soon as the brush makes contact with the face. Also, whatever I said about it smelling like bay rum, I should reconsider. It is indeed a lovely citrusy scent that it has! :happy088: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Razor: 69 Slimline Gillette Adjustable (set on 9)
Blade: Gillette 7 O’clock Super Stainless (5th use)
    Brush: Lions Head Silvertip
    Cream: C.O. Bigelow
A/S: Alum Bar & Cold Water Rinse
    A/S: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

I got a DFS shave but with a fair amount of razor burn. I am not sure if it was due to the blade or because I got too much water in my shaving cream. I tend to think it was due to the lather not the blade. I am still impressed with the blade it appears to have surpassed the Personnas.
