Several days since my last post (has it been a week?). I have been intermitently shaving due to taking waay too much overtime. I continue to have a problem with under the jaw line on my right side (the side I use to shave with). I tried the '53 super speed and it seemed to work the same using the same type blades as the tech. Today I did make one change I shaved once on the problem spot for me going from the ear to the chin under the jaw line. This seems to be against the grain for this area, and it definately helped quite a bit. Another change I have made is to not use a hot towel before shaving. I think it was making my neck more vulnerable to sensitivity. Since this change (3 shaves) I have had quite a bit less irritation on the neck. I am gonig to start rotating between the 2 razors I have since at this point it seems like they shave pretty much the same. Does anyone have any suggestions on a blade to go to next that might be a bit more agressive than the Gillette Blue? I got the sample pack from TSD.

Astras, 7 o'clock yellows, or Volkshod blades. All of these are the sharper blades. I would start with the Volkhod or the Astras. The Astras are considered one of the sharper blades out there and are easily available and are cheap. The Volkshod blades are available cheaply at TSD (for now. EDIT: What I mean by that is they may not be a permanent item, not that the price would go up.) and are difficult to find elsewhere. 7 o'clock yellows have a good reputation and are fairly easy to find. I would class those three blades as the sharper ones in that sample pack based on reviews and personal experience with volkshod blades. Your experience may be different.

I have the same problem area's. I have only been at it a couple weeks and am still building my skill set. I do a 3 pass shave and 95% is golden but that 5% just under the jaw line is a bugger. Not sure if it is the blade, the direction or just the fear of getting cut as it is an odd angle to shave. Figure I will have it set by the end of my 30 day learning process!
