Hey guys! Another week will be starting, so let's see some nice pictures of those great set-ups. I'll start things off. Menthol Monday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 5 Vostok SC Diana Sport Menthol Balsam Alcolado Glacial Menthol Splash EDT to be decided later This is one of the coldest set-ups anyone could find - The QCS Vostok cream is not for anyone who cannot tolerate powerful menthol. It's so strong that it can cause your eyes to get watery, and the cooling sensation lasts for long after the shave. The Diana Sport balsam from Austria is as strong as the ISZ aftershave milk, and it's also very moisturizing. The Alcolado Glacial is a pleasure to splash on for extra iciness!
A wonderful Monday morning to all of you! Despite being more than half asleep this morning (we got in late last night from the weekend trip, I have to make do with about 4.5 hrs of shut eye time…) I had a very nice shave ritual today. My set-up was very straight forward and consisted of: Calani Dubai shave soap Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in faux horn, with Silver Tip Fibre 1955 Gillette Super Speed Heavy (Red Tip) Feather FH-10 blade (new) Bloc Osma Alum D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave A DFS+ in 2 passes, I just love shaving a 2 – 3 days’ worth of growth. Very nice!

665 Toyo Tabac Semogue 1800 AV Musk Great edge, very nice shave this morning. First time out with the Semogue 1800. I did one hand lather with it yesterday and put it in service this morning. It's a nice feeling brush and lathered well. The remainder of it's break in will just be normal usage, nothing special. Have a good one. I did rehandle the 1800. upload images

July 23 2012 Gillette "Big Fellow" Israeli Personna (1) Omega Professional boar brush Omega s/c Pinaud Lime Sec a/s 4711 e de c I found this Big Fellow at the St Lawrence Market yesterday, complete with box and blade case. The condition's a bit rough - box a little battered and the plating on the blade case and razor about half worn away - but mechanically it's perfectly sound, and the price was reasonable, so I grabbed it. I gave it a Dettol bath and a cleaning and put to work this morning. I wouldn't call it "aggressive" so much as "positive" feeling. Because of it's weight and balance you definitely know it's there, but there's none of the bite or irritation that one associates with an "aggressive" razor. The shave was BBS. Can you tell I'm a fan? Have a great day, everyone. Graham

SOTD Monday July 23, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in hot water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9 Blade: Unknown Blade 1, Shave 3 Brush: VIe-Long LE Beehive Natural Horse Hair Soap: Tabac AS: Brut Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave. Day three of the blind blade test, which is the 3rd shave with blade number 1. Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experince. At the end of the test, I will be posting my complete daily journal which I will share on Google docs for those interested. The only variance was the aftershave, which today was Brut. It has been a while since I used Brut, it is one of those scents that I used to look at and wonder why they still sold it. I know why, it is a classic clean scent. I have read others comparing it to Pinuad Clubman or Canoe, I think they need to get their nostrils checked, as Brut is in a class of it's own. While it has some similar notes of Canoe, primarily the lavender and lemon, there is not one thing about it that reminds me of Clubman.
