Vintage Gillette, but which one?

I bought this vintage Gillette off of eBay. It's a nice traveling set, but part of the leather flap has been lost over time. I was told it was from 1930 so I think it would make it a Gillette NEW. (?)

Any help here guys. Any information about this kit would be welcome. I paid $30 for it, so I think it was a good deal. Eventually I'd like to get it re-played so it all looks new.

    Thanks for the help!

Your razor is a Gillette New and the plating looks to be in great shape already. Congratulations on your find!

Thanks. It shaves pretty well too. :) It arrived while I was at a symposium and I could hardly wait to get back to see it give it a shave.

Looks like a short comb new type to me with a bar handle. I have one just like it. These are smooth and efficient razors. Good plating and a great find. Congrats and enjoy your shaver Padre!..

The only thing that needs plating on that razor is the head. And even that looks pretty good. Oh, and just so you know, the little blade case thingy...typically sells for about $30. Just in case you ever need to justify your purchase.

Cool! I'd like to get the head played. Any guess as to cost in 24k gold--which what I think it is.

It is a mismatched set with a common bar handle NEW in place of the original razor.

Apart from the cover it all looks in pretty good condition. It would not be hard to find the correct razor for the set or you can just use as is and enjoy!

    For $30, a great score!

Very nice. If the replaying is too costly you might want to just find a similar with a better head and replace it. Might be easier and a better match.

I'd keep it and use it just as it is....and I'd treasure such a sweet shaver...
But, if you want to plate the head.......Hey guys....Is it "Reliable Plating" where Jody and alot of you guys got such beautiful work done? And what is the contact info?

Great score Father. The short comb NEW is my favorite razor that I own (or have owned). I have had great experience with replating from Dave at West Coast Razors. I will PM you his contact info.
