SOTD Friday 7-27-2012 Gillette Fat Handled Tech w/Feather OS Clone SS in Vintage OS Mug* Semogue 820 Boar Dickinson's Witch Hazel Brut Original ASB Old Spice Classic Cologne * I finally figured out what SS this is that I got from the Army/Navy Store. It says "Steph" on the label so, I am assuming it Stephens brand which also has some old time barber shop after shaves and hair treatment products. At any rate, it's a great SS with plenty of lather and a very nice spice scent similar at least to OS.
Friday Dovo Astrale 5/8" & Dubl Duck Goldedge 6/8" Semogue Owners Club Boar Arko Commando Cold Water Rinse Clubman VI Bay Rum Ok well I apparently did a good job of honing with my Dovo but I officially discovered this morning I have no desire to use a round point anymore - just because it can't shape around my moustache properly. So instead of taking ridiculous care not to lop hair off where I didn't want it missing, I switched to the Dubl Duck which of course was an excellent shave as well, but less paranoia for my whiskers lol.

SHAVELOG: 27/072012 Music: ambient Preshave: virgin Olive, water Brush: Omega 1005 Razor: Henckels 4/8 HG AS: Olive, water Soap: Hugo Grapefruit Went ok today. No accidents but still there is the lingering irritation on left side neck. Overall beard reduction was very good. I'm figuring out the best methods for the left side and there are some growing pains. The shave was quite lengthy and there is still work yet to be done on the stropping process. Have yourselves a great day!..
TSD Tabac cream ASR Silver Star Feather Weight Astra blade a/s - supermentholated witch hazel Wife reminded me there's a fair at the church tonight so I pushed tomorrow's shave up a day. BBS...and Astra is definitely superior to Voshkod, imo. Not by much, maybe, but enough.
Friday 07/27/2012 Shower and Shave We had so very welcomed rain yesterday. With the rain Mr. Arthur (arthritis)flares up more so then usual. A hot shower was very welcomed this morning. After showering facial prep with Proraso glycerin. The king of all my brushes Parker Badger was chosen for lathering today. Soap choice today was Nanny's Citrus Zinger cream. I really this this shave cream, it is a bit challenging to lather. It requires a little more water to lather nicely, today was spot on with the water. Razor choice was a Gillette SS, with a Gillette super thin. Third day for this combo, the teaming has given excellent shaves. Three passes I had an awarding winning Gold Medal DFS. Cold water splash, RazoRock alum, Kramperts Accidian to finish up a great shave Everyone have a super weekend.

Saturday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 3 Italian Palmolive Menthol SC Visal AS Gel Osage Rub AS Chabrawichi 555 Cologne I may have to wait until our weather starts to get cooler before I can continue using the new Russian stuff I have because it's simply not mentholated enough. The heat here is unreal - I need all the menthol I could get, so the Palmolive cream, Osage Rub, and Visal gel joined forces to give me a wonderful face-freezing shave and a great icy feeling afterwards.
6/8 Toyo TSD Winter Pagoda/lanolin rehandled Semogue 1800 Malizia Uomo Changed things up a bit this morning but had the same results, a great shave. TSD Winter Pagoda was excellent, loved the performance and scent. There is something in there that really appeals to my nose. Aftershave skin care seems to be superb. I'll be boiling some cow horn today in the attempt to make some razor scales. It helps to live in cowboy country sometimes. Have a good one. hosting images
July 28 2012 Big Fellow Israeli Personna (2) Omega Professional boar Omega s/c M&L Florida Water a/s 4711 e de c I seem to be riffing on the M&L/4711 combo, but honestly nothing works better for me in this hot weather - like they say, if it aint broke ...! Saturday Gillette No 58 The Manchurian Red Personna Proraso Green Proraso Splash It was a most excellent 2 pass DFS this morning. I am quite taken with my plates British acquisition! I read that the No 58 is a mild razor but I beg to differ. The aggression is just right for my face and it takes off significant stubble with every pass! The Proraso is always a winner in my books, so no need to comment on its performance. Happy Saturday everyone! Enjoy the weekend!
You should have enough blades to last you a while too! Let me know if you are unable to get more (at a reasonable price)
