Monday Morning Up late watching Olympic coverage ... morning came early! Pre (Eucerin, warm shower) Omega 10083 Pro boar VDH Merkur 23c w/ Astra SP Post (Cetaphil, cold water rinse) Master Bay Rum DFS by means of wtg, xtg. Comfortable! The weekend was spent with Gold Dachs Spezial soap. This morning I did not have a lot of time ... wanted to use a soap, not cream ... VDH fit the bill. Quick lather. Protective. Cheap Inexpensive (excess lather down drain not a worry). It may not be on par with my MWF, Gold Dachs, or French soaps, but it's not far off. It's the inexpensive soap that can! Come on Japan ... where's your gold in Judo?? Ganba, Ganba!!

I am using my DEs a little more than I would have hoped for...but needs must! SWMBO decided to impersonate the 'White Tornado' in my den on Friday night while I was at work. I got a phone call enquiring as to why I have thousands of razor blades. I didn't think it advisable to confirm that it was only part of my stash. Anyway.... I now feel obliged to prove that I need them! Today's shave was my first with a Kai DE blade. I achieved a BBS....but I did not find the shave to be as smooth as those obtained with Feathers. I think these would cut me up if used constantly. The Classic Vanilla certainly wakened me up when it touched skin

Last week I was in Virginia Beach on vacation. My travel set-up was: Razor - Racer brand DE razor Blade - Racer DE blade Brush - alternated between a Turkish Horsehair #6 and a VDH Badger Lather - alternated between Arko soap stick and VDH Luxury soap A/S - Thayers witch hazel Frag - rotated: 1. Number Six by Caswell-Massey; 2. Vetiver by Annick Goutal; and 3. Esplosivo by Tonino Lamborghini Today (back home): Razor - Gillette New Bostonian Blade - Racer DE blade Brush - Omega "Mighty Midget" boar/badger Lather - MdC soap A/S - Saint Charles Shave "Mediterranean Citrus"
I wish our weather would cool off so I could use my Goldachs Spezial soap, but until it does, it'll have to be the super-menthol extravaganzas!

Good morning. My Moment of Zen today was built around the inauguration of my first Fatboy into my rotation and the very first shave with the same as well. Only my most trusted Shave-Lieutenants were entrusted the task of making the Fatboy feel welcome: Musgo Real pre shave oil Calani Dubai shave soap Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre 1960 Gillette Fatboy razor Feather blade (2nd shave) Bloc Osma Alum D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave Having shaved a lot with the Futur and the Vision over the past weeks, I decided to start today’s shave off with the Fatboy set to 5. It felt a wee bit mild, so after the first few strokes I dialed it up to 6. And that felt just about right. 2 beautifully smooth and efficient passes were all it took to achieve my standard DFS. Just nice!
Well put, Brian. I have made the same experience just a short while back when I've tried a few KAI blades. Although very sharp and highly efficient with 3 days worth of stubble, they did not feel comfortable in daily use. I reverted back to Feather after a week.

Tuesday: Omega Wooden Handle Super Speed/Rapira day 6 Everest SC Diana Sport Menthol Balsam Osage Rub Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT Another just about perfect shave this morning - I'm surprised that the Rapira blade is still working so well even on the 6th day. I'll put in a new one tomorrow, however. The Everest cream felt nice and cool on my face, and the Diana Sport balsam and the Osage Rub felt bone-chilling cold!
