Stony was designing a brush, a while back, for his nephew's wife & asked some of the women for input. We provided it happily and he thanked us with some of his other handles (wonderful of him, if entirely unnecessary). He sent me 2 handles (22mm each) and a spalted maple pen. Aren't they stunning? The handle on the left is spalted maple. I am not sure what the second one is made of, other than awsomeness. I will be knotting then with TGN silvertip knots.-pics when they are done. Stony deserves a big "Thank You"for being so nice, so I hope it's OK if I thank him here, and showcase his talent.
There are some talented and gererous people on this site, long may it continue, im sure you will enjoy them.
That's such a interesting silhouette on the left one. So long and slender. Reminds me of a model on a catwalk.
Thanks! I am using the spalted maple brush, which feels very nice. The cherry wood brush became a gift for my friend Mario's teenage son, who is 15 (and for whom I have a big soft spot, in my heart.) Mario is the one for whom I did the re-knot. I also made another brush, for his older son. He has one more, but the youngest is 7, so I have some time before I need to make him his own brush.
