Shower and Shave

Pre-shave hot shower, facial prep Proraso glycerin.
Soap, Mystery Brand
Brush, LuJin Badger
Razor, Super Adjustable
Blade, 7o'clock yellow
Post,cold water splash, RazoRock alum, Tet-A-Tet Balm

Great hot shower this morning. Chose of my mystery brand soaps for the LuJin badger to whip into lather, which it accomplished very well. Day three for the Super and Yellow paring. Crank it to 7 for two passes, third pass dialed down to 4.
Finished the shave with cold water splash, alum, and a dab of Tet-A-Tet balm.
A DFS worthy a gold medal.

Late shave today as I have the day off recovering from round two of some major dental work. Not the easiest thing to do is shave while your gums are pounding, but the test must continue.

Blind Blade Test, Shave of the Day (SOTD) Wednesday August 1, 2012

Prep: Brush soaking in hot water, face scrub with TSD Sandalwood soap, Tepid Water Shower
Razor: 1965 Gillette Slim Adjustable set to 9
Blade: Blind Blade Test Blade #5, Shave #2
Brush: VIe-Long LE Beehive Natural Horse Hair
Soap: Tabac
AS: Brut Attitude Loción
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

This is day twelve of the blind blade test, which is the second shave with blade number five.

Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experience. At the end of the test I will be posting my complete daily journal.

All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave, which today is Brut Attitude Loción.

Thanks Bill, feeling much better now than I did this time last night.

I am anxious to see how each blade ends up being rated and what blades they are. I have been paying more attention after each pass, checking the amount of reduction, signs of irriatation and for any damage.

A wonderful good Thursday morning to all!

First off: Mike, I simply love how relaxed your Puss seems, totally Zen the way she looks. Just nice!

My own morning experience was sadly devoid of any feline or even canine presence and affection (for various reasons, but SWMBO and I are in agreement that will change at some point in the future). Slept in a wee bit today (only by half an hour but that does make a difference) and had a very enjoyable shave ritual after a nice warm and relaxing shower:

Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in horn imitate and with Silver Tip Fibre
1960 Gillette Fatboy dialled to a setting of 6
Feather FH-10 stainless steel blade (3rd shave)

2nd shave with the Fatboy and I must say I am starting to be impressed by this razor. It feels so mild yet has bite and leaves no stubble standing. The angle of attack seems to differ noticeably from the one of my Red Tip Super Speed and from the British Rocket (the latter being the big softy (read: mildest) among my Gillette razors)

Today the FaTip was feeling a lil ornery and presented me with a nice head weeper behind my left ear.This was a nice one,good flow,still weeping a lil bit,time for a lil styptic pencil action.It still was a nice and maybe too close shave.Looks like I'm gonna skip a day or two on my head and just shave my face.As much as I love my Floid's I probably should have applied one of the Pitralon's for the healing properties.

 

That's one of my favorite soaps as well,TSD's English Fern splash is great.Actually I think that'll be in my line-up for Friday's shave
