Something a little different today. Since I have been having trouble getting enough smooth and creamy lather with the one artisan soap (Uncle Pooley's shave soap) I have decided to retire that soap and use it as a shower bar. I cut it in half and works fine as a shower/shampoo soap. As for the shave:

    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra (day 2)
Soap: Daisy Mountain Shave Soap (Sedona) AND COMING SOON TO A PIF NEAR YOU!
    Brush: El cheap-o-rama
    Water: City Supply
Shower: Fiberglass with 1.5 gpm shower head
    Towel: White 100% cotton
    Toothpaste: Tom's of Maine

I threw in a few extra details for ya! :)

    Shower and Shave
    Hot Shower
    Proraso glycerin
    LuJin Badger
    Goatie Girls
    SS black handle
    Ladas

A nice long hot shower, slow moving this morning. Facial prep with Proraso glycerin. Puck of Goatie Girl's goat milk shave soap, lather was less then stellar. I did manage three passes with the SS and Ladas combo.
The shave was an okay DFS.

Do you like the scent of the Uncle Pooley's? If so, just add a squirt or two of unscented KMF cream. That'll help boost your lather right up without covering or changing the scent. I keep a tube of the unscented KMF cream around for just such things, or if I accidently add too much water.

A wonderful shave! I think I've finally figured out the IK. It take a very, very dry brush and a vigorous loading. Only then do I get a creamy lather, as opposed to the airy lather I had been getting. I'm still underwhelmed by it however.

The Schick Plus Platinum is tops! I'm just starting to get some slight tugging so I may only get 5 shaves out of it, but I'll go as long as I comfortably can with it.

The Feather AC - SS always delivers. I had to call the vet out yesterday to put my old Dog to sleep aged 15 i'm totally gutted, if there was ever a harder decision to make than this i couldn't think of one, i have barely slept a wink all night.

I feel for you.......we have a 14 year old Labrador who is noticeably going downhill and I fear that something similar will happen to us. In preparation....we actually bought a new puppy yesterday. At least when the day comes , Chino's companion Scooby will still have company.

Except for a a small bit of stubble on the left side of my neck, a great BBS shave. As always, the Gada Cool Mint delivers its great lather and potent cooling sensation with a nice scent and great skincare. The Svoboda balsam and Osage Rub were the perfect finishing touches! ;) :D

What a difference a handle makes, specs on handle 316L Stainless Steel. 85 mm long. 15/15 mm caliber. 103 gr weight aprox.I've had problems in the past with making FaTips fit certain handles. With the Tradere, only the nickel plated grande and Piccolo would work, the chrome wouldn't fit.Others have said the opposite, no problems with the chrome but they did have problems with nickel plated FaTips. This is not just with Tradere,it's also with some Webers,iKon and others.I tried the UFO Godzilla with all 3 FaTips I own and they all fit like a glove.

The shave was quite different than with a Tradere handle, the Tradere made the FaTip more Joris in feel.Smoother and a closer shave than with it's original Grande handle, but not as smooth or close as a Joris.Godzilla is different,it's a heavier handle and fatter, it may not appeal to everyone. But the shave was fantastic.Very smooth, seems more efficient than with the Tradere. In fact to me it's bordering on a better version of a r41.With the extra weight in the handle you need to go with a light touch,I wouldn't say this shaves closer to a Joris, but I would say it shaves like a FaTip on steriods.I tried to take pic's but I've got a lousey camera,I tried 10 shots and none of em came out right :(
The UFO Godzilla/FaTip is not going to be a poor man's Joris, this handle makes a great razor even better. The handle and balance may not be for everyone's liking but if you like a heavy handle, the UFO may be a good fit for you.
