This is day eighteen of the blind blade test, which is the second shave with blade number seven.

Per the guidelines of the test I will not be posting my results of the blade, as we do not want other participants to be influenced by our own shaving experience. At the end of the test I will be posting my complete daily journal.

All variables remain the same accept for the aftershave, which today is Clubman.

I had been wanting a 38C for a long time but I never pulled the trigger on one until a few days ago. I don't know why I waited so long, this is an outstanding razor and has become an instant favorite. It is probably the last razor I will purchase. (For a while.) (Don't worry, I have others!) lol ;)

I've had the same feeling about a Merkur Progress but haven't pulled the trigger yet. Hopefully my FatBoy/Slim pair will keep my RAD in check because they both perform so well I can't see needing another razor. (This doesn't count straights, I will always want more of those LOL)

This is a lovely old razor, with some staining on the blade (I like to think of it as "patina") and whale bone or possibly ivory scales.

No pics - that camera is hopeless.

I had the same experience. I have had the Fat Boy and Slim for a long time and thought ...why get a Progress, it's the same thing! However, when I did get a Progress, I seemed to prefer it over the Gillette adjustables. It's a beautiful razor and is as hefty (probably more so) than a Fat Boy. The geometry of the Progress is quite different than the Gillettes and requires a change in the stroke approach angle however, the performance is exceptional once you're dialed in. Not to be an enabler but.... it's well worth the price and life IS short! :signs136:

Excellent lather from the Vulfix boar this morning. The Nanny's Citrus Zinger whips up easily for great lather. It is slick and moisturizing, pleasant scent. Three passes today, the results were a great smooth DFS.
