How long ago was it that these La Famiglia soaps came out? 3 months? I bought 3 different flavors that first day they were available and yet I had not used them, even for a test lather, until this day.

My first impression is that yes, these soaps work fine. Not spectacular, but not bad. The scent is a bit sweet, but nice. I'll be using each scent 3 times and by the end I should have a pretty good idea of how well these work. Don Marco is my least favorite scent of the 3 I boughtr (along with Cumba Cheech & Zi Peppino)

I'm currently testing razors with Ladas blades and so far, the Black Beauty works the best with them, along with my Merkur 42C.

I need to take a picture of the birthday gift Jeff bought for me. I have a customized brush and razor set that Mark made. The razor and brush are set with Swarovski crystals and they are PINK! The handle is a bit short on the razor so I am adjusting to that, otherwise, it is a fantastic set!

    Have a great week!

AHA! Finally! That's the second time I remember you with the straight in your hand! Just confess, it feels great! Imagine that special weekend shave with extra bit of luxury that straight gives...
Hope to see more of great shaves from you, my friend and I'll bet to support you with some Znakhar SC ;) and Svoboda balm you love!
My Sunday shave was deliberate and long.

    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Palmolive shave stick

    Mayor Energy Platinum AS splash
Palmolive sticks always gives me that 'sharp' feeling and very close shaves. Love'em! Nice DFS with almost no alcohol burn when splash was applied.

DFS near BBS with the exception of some spots on my neck that I'm afraid to take the st8 ATG. I love my st8 and I see this becoming an expensive but worthwhile habit. I'm slowly getting the stuff together to restore old blades, to give those beautiful old razors a chance to shine again and hopefully provide a hundred more years of fantastic shaves to me or anyone else. Hopefully sooner rather than later I'll have my gear and I can start the long learning process of restoring.

I like the ridge that is halfway down the barrel of the handle. The ridge gives nice purchase for my fingers (I like holding on to the handle rather than all the way down to the bristles). There's also relief at the end of the handle. Easy to hold on to. The "shelf" at the brush end of the handle helps catch some of the excess lather. I looked at the Tulip as well, but settled for the Milk Churn. Price wise I wanted the Best Badger rather than the Super Badger.

Stylistically, it reminds me of a bamboo joint. Clean, straight lines ... not sweeping like a vase. It feels kind of modern as a result. We live in a home with modern architecture and the brush fits in. It's my only brush I actually display on the counter.

I turned the razor up to 6 and enjoyed a close shave, though I did get one weeper on my neck. The Black Beauty and my Super Speed are the top razors for these Ladas. I have one more Ladas in this pack and will try it with my SABI 3-piece razor next, followed, perhaps, by my Weishi TTO.

This is my third use of the RR LaF line and while I get a great lather for the first two passes, it gets thin and runny on the third pass. More product should be the answer to that. Tonight I'll switch to Cumba Cheech.
