    Razor: Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade: Feather
    Preshave: Proraso
    Brush: Vulfix 1000A
    Cream: CO Bigelow
A/S: Cold Water Rinse, Thayers WH, Aqua Velva Ice Sport

Really nice shave with the Bigelow cream, finally getting the hang of making lather. First time using the Aqua Velva After Shave. That was quite invigorating. Can't wait to get the Osage Rub from my TSD order. Could be a while, waiting on the Lanolin soap on that order.

    Good morning!

My shave ritual on Tuesday consisted of some of my most used hard- & software with the exception of the razor blade, which was a new brand I was given to try out. It is the store brand “TiP” of German supermarket chain “real.-“. Rumors have it they are the rebranded (or actually ‘unbranded’) Platinum Chrome blades from Personna. Nothing is printed on the blades other than arrows.

The set-up around the new blade was:

    Musgo Real pre shave oil
    Calani Dubai shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur Futur on 3
    TiP real.- DE blade (new)
    Bloc Osma Alum
D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave

Not a bad shave at all, I must admit. I did notice the difference of this blade to my customary Feather blade, especially as I was mowing down 4 days worth of stubble. That usually does not pose resistance to the Feather, I felt however a wee bit of tugging with this TiP blade on the first pass. I am curious to see feel how this particular blade will perform the rest of this week in the face of 'normal daily' stubble.

Audio: Audiobook: John Sandford's "Bad Blood"
    Prep: Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
    Pre-Shave Lather: Institut Karite
Shave Oil: 5Savages Shave Oil (grape seed & castor oil, clove & tea tree EOs)
Razor: SABI 3-piece razor, Gillette Tech for the 4th pass.
    Blade: Ladas (1)
    Brush: Vulfix 660S
Soap/Cream: RazoRock La Famiglia - Don Marco SS
Post: RazoRock La Famiglia - Don Marco ASB

After 3 uncomfortably aggressive passes with SABI, I switched the blade over to a tech for a 4th pass. Compared to the wide-gapped SABI, the Tech felt like it didn't even have a blade.

Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face wash/scrub with Noxzema, as cold as I could stand it shower
Razor: GEM Heavy Flat Top G-Bar
    Blade: ASR Carbon Single Edge
    Brush: Semogue 820 Boar
    Soap: TSD Sandalwood Wheat Cream
    AS: Aqua Velva Musk
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Aftershave.

It has been a well over a month since I have used my beloved G-Bar. Between the blade test and putting away many of my razors, it just sat in a drawer calling out my name. I whipped up a good lather, loaded her with a fresh carbon blade and gave her a spin.

Ahh that sound, that whisker cutting sound, it sounds like victory. I forgot the amount of audio feedback you get when using a single edge. You know when you have the angle right, as your stubble is screaming in terror as they are being cut from your face.

After two passes and I had better than a DFS, but wanted to push for a BBS. It did take mutliple addtional passes, j-hooks and buffing on my neck to get there, but the end results are well worth it. I have such a remarkable close shave this morning I must ask myself why I do not use this razor and blade combo more often.

Little to no burn came from the alum rub, with just a slight amount of stinging after a generous splash of the Aqua Velva Musk.
