My dear friend Dmitry gave me so much inspiration to use my Dovo Bismarck, so from now on, every Sunday that's what I'm going to shave with. I had such a wonderful and ultra-BBS shave with it. It shows that I didn't lose my technique after all. The original Bulgarian Viking Sensitive cream which I bought from Bestshave.net lathers so easily and smells quite nice, it gives VERY soothing skincare with a good menthol sensation. I still however, prefer the Russian version. The Svoboda balsam and the Osage Rub are absolute wonders. ;) :D

Shower: Burt's Bees Men's Care Soap
    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra (New)
    Soap: Omega
    Brush: TBS: Syntax

2 passes plus touch up for near BBS. A few stubborn micro spots. My daughter chose the soap fo the day and whipped it up for me. She also helped apply the lather. I am certain that this is the reason my shave was as good as it was. :)

    Happy shaves all!

    TSD Sandalwood balm

Tuned up the C&S last night before bed and had a very nice shave this morning. This will probably be the razor of the week for me. I can't speak to highly of the TFS Tobacco Verde, I really like this soap. Great lather and scent, the skin care is superb. As they say, YMMV. This one has favorite written all over it. Have a good one and enjoy your day.

YES!!!!! Finally I convinced you to get back to straights! Lucky day it was! I wish you the smoothest and most pleasant shaves only!

Sunday shave was a bit late...
    4/8 Rebell from herzi
    Vie-Long horsehair brush
    Palmolive shave stick
    Cold water splash
    Mayor Energy Platinum AS splash
So smooth! Guy and gals, a little fun story for you - you all know that you have to splash an alcohol AS into your palm and then rub it over your face. And that first moment can become a REAL awakening... just because of 5 or 6 torn calluses on the fingers and palm. 70% alcohol splash, you see :D:git::shocked029: ...

Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face wash/scrub with Noxzema, cold shower
Razor: 1918 Gillette Old Type 102 Single Ring Open Comb
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super
    Brush: Semogue 820 Boar
    Soap: Tabac
    AS: British Sterling
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

The 102 Old Type Single Ring is becoming one of my favorites, I need to find a replated one. Paired with the Perma-Sharp Super, it makes for one excellent shave.

As much as I love the Perma-Sharps I cannot understand the high prices that vendors are selling these blades for. My company does business with a few shaving related distributors, so I know the price vendors are paying for them.

Most vendors are selling these at a 42.31% GPM, which equated to a 73.33% mark-up. I understand that we all need to make a profit, but that is just pure greed in my opinion. As much that I love the Perma-Sharps, unless vendors bring their profits down to a more reasonable margin I will stick with blades that perform as well but cost much less.

The Semogue 820 Boar and Tabac is a winning brush/soap combo. I face lathered today and had enough lather left over for at least two additional passes.

Two full passes and touch-ups provided close to a BBS. The British Sterling is always a nice way to end a shave, as I find both the initial and developed smell very appealing.

It was a wonderful shave this morning! The menthol in the red was just right, and the razor was beautiful as always (it's fast becoming a favorite). I had a few cuts, but I was speaking to the congregation at church today (about 200+ ppl) so I was a bit nervous. But the save was very relaxing nonetheless.

Sunday, August 26, 2012, Shaving Ritual

Razor: 68 Slim Gillette Adjustable (N4) (set on 9)
Blade: Bolzano Superinox Inossidabile (1st use)
    Brush: Semogue TSN LE 21/100
    Bowl: Gravy Boat Scuttle
    Cream or Soap: TOBS Sandalwood
A/S: Alum & Cold Water Rinse
    A/S: Pinaud Clubman

I tried out my new brush today; this brush has more backbone than any brush I’ve tried so far. This brush whipped up an awesome lather in my gravy boat scuttle very quickly with almost no effort. I got a great shave today an easy and comfortable 3-pass BBS!

    Prep: Nivea Moisturizing Face Wash
    Pre-Shave Lather: Institut Karite
Shave Oil: 5Savages Shave Oil (grape seed & castor oil, clove & tea tree EOs)
    Razor: Gillette Old Type
    Blade: Astra SP (3)
    Brush: Vulfix 660S Medium
Soap/Cream: Kiss My Face - Cool Mint SC
Post: Neutrogena Men Triple Protect Lotion

This Old Type is redefining what a great shave is. I can't wait to try it with a Voskhod and a Personna Super Lab. With an Astra, which was a marginal blade for me before, it gives me the best shave I've ever had. Amazing!

I'm going through my 4 KMF creams to see if I want to stock up on any before the $3 coupon expires. Then again, considering my quantity of creams, it probably doesn't make sense for me to stock up on any of them since I won't get to using them for 5 years, minimum.
