    Menthol Monday:

    Turkish Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Rapira
Mama Bear Awakenings SS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Diana Sport Menthol Balsam :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Alt Innsbruck AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT

This set-up is super-frigid, and one of my favorites. The Awakenings soap smells so nice, it lathers great, and is it ever cold! Another thing which I cannot stop raving about is my Super Speed which I received as a gift. ;) :D
  2. Good morning.

My shave ritual on this lovely Monday morning went as follows:

    Musgo Real pre shave oil
    Calani Purissima shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush in faux horn and with Silver Tip Fibre
1955 Gillette Super Speed Heavy (“Red Tip”)
    Feather FH-10 blade (2nd shave)
    Bloc Osma Alum
D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave

Beautiful shave, I just love that Red Tip (and everything else). I really enjoyed today, particularly after sub-par shaves most of last week with a different razor.

Wishing all of you a great week ahead.
  3. Prep L'Occitane Soap
    Razor Feather AC-SS
    Blade Feather Pro
Brush Le Tuft 59 in Buckeyed Burl
    Vito's Coconut & Almond
    Alum & Witch Hazel
    L'Occitane Baux Balm
L'Occitane Cedre L'Atlas Eau de parfum.

    Jamie.

I don't think I would like a traditional straight razor to be this sharp, very smooth finish.

  8. Shave of the Day (SOTD) Monday August 27, 2012
    [IMG]
Prep: Brush soaking in ice water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, cold shower
    Razor: Sabi T3
    Blade: Perma-Sharp Super
    Brush: Semogue 1438 Boar
Soap: Fine English Tallow Shaving Soap
    AS: Aqua Velva Musk
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Alum Rub, Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave.

In anticipation of the Cadet, I decided to use another Shave a Buck product today, the Sabi T3.

This is a razor that gets little to no mention on most forums, my own personal opinion is that many feel that a product made in India is not as good as one of the German or English "major" brands.

The head design is like that of a Merkur three piece except it is more aggressive. Combine that with the hefty weight of it's handle and you have a whisker reduction machine.

I really wish that I knew more about this soap that I am using today. I had received it as a gift when I purchased my short comb NEW and it was only labeled as "Fine English Tallow Shaving Soap". No other markings was on the wax paper wrapping. It builds a very nice lather that provides enough cushion and slickness when using a more aggressive razor.

The first WTG pass provided me with DFS, if I was in a rush I could have easily stopped and would have been acceptable to go to work.

Two full passes and light touch-ups provided a BBS.

  11. Menthol Monday:
    soak brush/Semogue 620/DB Brush Scuttle
20 minute marinade of TSD ISZ Preshave Balm :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    warm shower
Musgo Real Lime Oil Glyce Soap
Mama Bear's Rosemary Mint Shave Stick (face lathered) :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
    Merkur 39c "The Hammer"/Perma-Sharp Super (4)
    cold water rinse
    Monster Block Alum
    Thayer's Original WH mixed with 2 drops M-Bomb :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Alt-Innsbruck mixed with a pea sized amount of 444 :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

Another great shave with The Hammer and Perma-Sharp Super, looks like 4 shaves is the charm with this combo. If I wasn't head shaving this combo could easily last at least 6 shaves on my face.My face whiskers are coarse but not really dense, the dome however is brutal on blades,so 3 shaves is the norm, anything more than that is great.
  12. Monday Morning

Up early for a meeting ...

    Pre (Eucerin, warm shower)
    Omega 10083 Pro boar
    T&H Ultimate Comfort SC
Merkur 23c w/ Gillette Super Thin (Thai)
Post (Styptic, Cetaphil, cold water rinse)

Solid DFS by means of wtg, xtg. A little nick on cheek bone when I reached a little too high with the razor. Nothing styptic won't fix.

Note: Double check meeting times! Mistakenly showed up 1 hour too early. Doh!!!!!!
  13. Crown and Sword
    TFS Tobacco Verde
    Homemade brush, 24mm Grade A

Nice shave this morning. 2nd shave with the new brush, it performed well. Have a good one.

  18. That is a beautiful Razor Arley and a Sabi T3 will probably be my next razor purchase. (I have been looking at them for some time now, I just need to find some room in my drawer to put it! lol) I have some Parkers that are made in India and they have very good quality now and deliver an excellent shave so I agree with you about good researching and judging the razor by it performance rather than believing all the hype out there one way or the other. I really like the looks of the Sabi handle; awesome heft and beautiful!

    Monday

A hot shower to start the day.
    Facial prep with Proraso glycerin.
Soap choice today was Derby Menthol :smiley freezing: a mild menthol chill.
Brush choice the Omega "Midget", decided to face lather today. It was a successful, previous attempts have been less then stellar results.
Chose an old style Gillette OC with a Dorco blade. This is my second Dorco blade, it is a great comfortable, sharp blade.
Post shave after three passes cold water splash, alum and Colonia.
I hope everyone's Monday went off without a hitch and the following week is great.
