On a related note- don't drop your razor on your foot, either. (Thankfully, the cut is small, but, ouch!)
Ouch, Sara. I imagine that wouldnt feel too great, even without a blade in an 89l or something. Some are pretty dang heavy along with sharp.
Hoping for a speedy recovery for you. At least it was unintentional, a reflex action if you will. I remember a couple of years back when I purchased a Gem Micromatic. It came with a couple of double sided SE blades that I didn't want and wanted to dispose of so I wrapped them in a bunch of toilet paper and for some reason I wanted to test the strength of the toilet paper wrap (for safety purposes) so I squeezed it. Bad idea. Sliced right through the multiple layers (probably 1/8th to 1/4 inch thick) of TP and into my left middle finger. After washing it thoroughly I applied liquid Bandaid to it to stop the bleeding. I also managed one time to cut (not nick) my left nostril while shaving. Told a barber about the nostril incident while he was cutting my hair and he was just like "Wow, how did you manage that?" Sometimes I feel that if my head was not attached to my body by way of Biology and Cellular makeup, I would stand the very real chance of losing it.
A falling straight should never be caught. However, I wish I had caught my recently-fallen E injector. Bounced it off the tile and bent the head (at the handle junction) to a 45 degree angle. With some very careful reverse bending, it recovered. But, I was beyond-sure that I'd snap it in half.
You saved your EJ89 you should be proud!! Bleeding stops, skin heals and the pain will fade, but think how bad you would feel if the razor had hit the ground and bent the guard bar.
Groan! Just the thought of that makes me want to get a few more back-ups.......you know......just in case! Always be prepared!
Thanks all. I definitely feel that way most times, skyfox. It's feeling quite a bit better. The bad part is that I wasn't shaving, was actually going to toss some pics up with amazon review. :/
No doubt. I can hear Billy May saying, "Just watch how easy the de89 slices right through this index finger!!!! Even after sawing through copper pipe, it still tears through human flesh like a hot knife through butter!"
I did something close to this with my EJ89 a week ago. Except I was just unscrewing the head with wet hands and it slipped taking a chunk a little smaller than yours out of the index finger and slicing around my thumb. I feel your pain those derby blades in the EJ89 are just up to no good lol! Heal quickly Z
