I am now Turning my own brushes, and after working on the finish now for over a year and I think I have the solution I was wanting for the wood handles... Instead of just putting finish "On" the wood I am using a Vacuum Chamber to completely seal the wood inside and out.. Each completed wood handle is placed under Vacuum for 72 hours, I am using an actual Marine grade wood sealer in the chamber.. After the wood has become saturated with the finish, the handle is dried for 3 weeks or longer... They are then coated with Renaissance Wax and machine buffed 3 times.. The Knots are either 22mm or 24mm Overstuffed SilverTips I normally set them slightly low (about 52mm) so they have a tiny bit more body.. All knots are set with 3500 lb Marine Grade Epoxy.. Some have Base Caps attached made with different metals and materials that can be used to tie them into a set with a wedge match on your razor.. I will soon be adding Acrylic handles to the Website also, the Antler handles are still available and are often up for sale... Just some recent ones I have finished up Elk Antler with a Nickel Silver spacer and a Recon Mother of Pearl base Cottonwood Burl Purpleheart Cottonwood Burl with a Brass spacer and a Emerald/Gold Acrylic base Elk Antler with a Nickel Silver spacer and Black Marble Acrylic Base Find some of these on www.gemstarcustoms.com look on the "For Sale" page
I turned my first Acrylic handles and the first completed brush is up, what a ton of fun looked like a snow storm of Acrylic flakes out in the shop... 24mm Overstuffed Silvertip with a Emerald & Gold Handle, this one really fills the hand, and of course there can't ever be a water issue with the acrylics.. Thanks for looking Also if you are really after an excellent near perfect Mint shaver this Genco Seneca Chief just went up for sale in the DFS razors Welcome GemStar Customs - Gem Star Customs take a look when you get time and for a special discount "like" Gemstar on facebook https://www.facebook.com/pages/Gemst...3291262?ref=hl

This one I named the "ERN Mo Money" set The wife had a bit of input with the direction on this after she saw the actual "Shredded Money" acrylic, I waited for the right razor and this 6/8+ size (many would call this a 13/16) ERN 1166 Crown & Sword round point was it... This beauty has zero visible hone wear now, and didn't before the light polishing either.. The razor has been polished to a near perfect Mirror Sheen, all hardware and the wedge are Brass The matching brush is a 24mm Overstuffed Silvertip knot set at 54mm of loft, the brush is 115mm OAL and has an actual Liberty side out President's (Grant) Gold $1 coin... That gives it a solid weight and feel... Thanks for looking More razors coming
