I really should not be shaving because it's the first day of Rosh Hashana which is the Jewish New Year, but I just cannot resist, so this will be my set-up.

    Menthol Monday:

    Turkish Horsehair
    Super Speed/new Sharp
Iced Subzero SS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Diana Sport Menthol Balsam :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
Osage Rub AS :love055: :love055: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

I don't know how much colder than this it could get - the Iced Subzero soap by now has become very renowned for its powerful iciness as well as its awesome lather and skincare. The Diana Sport balsam and Osage Rub gave my brother-in-law a brutal skin irritation because he cannot tolerate strong menthol like I can. I hope I'll be able to manage to make the Sharp blade work for this coming week. Sorry for not showing my shave item photos. ;) :D

Here is a You Tube video which will show the lovely Moroccan (Sephardic) ritual of the prayers during the week of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. I follow that ritual, as does my wife, although I am of Ashkenazi (Eastern European) descent.

    Good morning.

    My Monday Zen Moment today:

Martin de Candre “Savon Vetyver’ face wash
    Musgo Real pre-shave oil
    Calani Cadre Noir shave soap
Mühle Basic Nr. 02 shave brush with Silver Tip Fibre
    Merkur 12C open comb
    BIC Chrome Platinum blade (new)
    Bloc Osma Alum
D.R. Harris Bay Rum after shave

After having been using predominantly Feather blades for the past year and longer, I did notice the difference of the BIC, which I used to like a lot. I still think it is a good blade but, whereas the Feather would go, with the same prep, through my 3-day beard like a hot knife through butter, the BIC was a little bit ‘rougher’. Still moved down the stubble very well though, no complaints.

I wish all of you an outstanding week ahead and many enjoyable shaves. I am off to order a few KAI blades as I have an inkling of gut feel that they might actually be working exceedingly well with my two Merkur OCs 11C & 12C as those blades are a touch thicker than my usual.

    Llyr Stay frosty, my friends!

    Menthol Monday:
Soak brush/Semogue SOC Boar (I screwed up,forgot about badger week)/DB Brush Scuttle
    hot shower

    warm water rinse
    Monster Block Alum
    warm water rinse
    Thayer's Medicated Superhazel mixed with 3 drops M-Bomb :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:
The Rub mixed with a small amount of 444 :love029: :love029: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily: :Animatedfrozensmily:

The Hammer shed a lil blood today,1 small head weeper and 1 tiny nick on my face, didn't even feel it.I'm not feeling the love from the Red IP's in this razor, usually the Red's are my go to blade but in the slant I think Voshkod's or Perma-Sharp Supers are a better match.

    Razor: Parker 22R
    Blade: Astra (Day 8!)
    Soap: Omega
    Brush: TBS

Finally glad to be done with Williams Week. I enjoyed it and learned some history too. Today was a decent DFS. Time to retire this blade after 8 days. The Omega soap is a favorite!

I also wanted to mention that the new Sharp blade worked very, very well for me this morning. No pulling or skipping, it did a great job of removing my hard beard stubble. Let's hope that it will last for 6 shaves. :happy088:

    17 September 2012 Monday

To start today a nice long hot shower.
I prepped my face with Prairie Creations pre-shave soap

Today's featured shave cream Derby Menthol :smiley freezing:

Was nicely lathered with a LuJin badger.
Razor and blade change today, I went with the Fat Boy and a Gillette blue. I was so impressed with the shaves I had with it the week using the Fat Boy during Theme Week recently.
Three passes resulted in a superior DFS.

After a great shave a chilling cold water splash, alum, then the :Animatedfrozensmily:Osage Rub.

Hope everyone has had a great Monday!!
