There is hardly a smell to match that of the mornings that I woke up to bacon frying in a log cabin under the pines of the Alps in southern Germany during winter.
Teaching a curious child what I know about nature. Examples: showing them a new bird, collecting pebbles, enjoying a stream, viewing wildlife, looking at the stars, etc.
Waking up to see my six year old reading to his younger brother and sister as they sit in rapt attention! Oh, and the smell of bread baking!!
The obvious look of happiness on my wife's face when something goes her way. When my dog tries to "talk" to me Making people chuckle...
Falling asleep, listening to a rainstorm under a tin roof (reminds me of when I was growing up, visiting my Grandma in Virginia, and she had a tin roof on her back porch) Catching the look of sheer happiness on my children's faces when they're just playing, having fun, and being kids. A leisurely stroll on a cool, crisp, brisk Autumn evening around my neighborhood with a cigar, or sitting by a campfire during the same time of the year... preferably snuggled up close under a blanket with someone. Oh... and BEER too.

Awesome thread! Having more of my evenings free again is one (got a new part time job that is more daytime hours, so less nights and only Saturdays, not Sundays!!!) Enjoying the coming of Fall and cooler weather is another.
Seeing my daughter smile. A hug from my wife. Standing there gazing at the sunset and having a horse come over and rest their head over my shoulder and watch with me.
I know this is an old thread but here goes mine: Fresh cut grass,home cooked meals, a good cup of coffee and cigarette after a home cooked meal, the sound of rain, cool clean air in autumn, my black lab doing something cute or funny, being with friends, mopping a floor (i know im weird), driving my Typhoon, the sound of crickets on a warm summer night... ok ill stop
