Except for the neck, I was at BBS after 2 passes. The 3rd pass for the neck only finished the job. The black ninja in the slant was mighty efficient!

I received a Tweex stick this past summer and today was only the 2nd time I shaved with it, and I really enjoyed it. It has almost the same scent as the Arko stick, (a little stronger) the lather is just as rich and easy to create, and the skincare is also pretty good. The Booster aftershaves are absolutely awesome - the Iced Lime is a top favorite of mine. (Madame just tolerates it!) ;) :D

Prep - Hot Towel, Simpson's Shave Cream
    Razor- Muhle '11 R41
    Blade - Astra S/P
Brush- New Forest Tubby 1 Finest
    Soap- P-160
Cold Rinse/ Witch Hazel/ RazoRock Aftershave Wax

underestimated the R41... a bit of a harsh shave. The Tubby and the P-160 were an excellent combo though...

This is the 3rd of the 4 razors I bought on ebay. I'm working on a set of scales for it but they're not complete yet. I just couldn't wait so I put a set of T.I.'s on it that I had laying around. I took my time putting a edge on it and was rewarded with a great shave this morning. A couple of things, I've been messing around most of last week with creams and hot water shaving, scuttle and bowl. I went back to cold water and soap this morning and face lathering. I'm convinced, for me, this is the way to go, YMMV. It leaves my face in better condition. This is just a personal observation but it seems to work best for me. For the rest of the week I'll be face lathering using creams and my normal cold water shaving. Have a good one.

Shave of the Day (SOTD) Sunday September 30, 2012 (Last Day of Semogue-tember)
Prep: Brush soaking in warm water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, tepid shower
Razor: Cadet Open Comb paired to an Edwin Jagger DE89L Handle
    Blade: Shark Super Stainless
    Brush: Semogue SOC Cherrywood Boar
    Cream: Domino
    AS: British Sterling
Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave

I thought that a fitting way to finish Semogue-tember would be with the SOC, as in my opinion there is not a better Semogue Boar. You can see that the bristles have began to split nicely, it really is a dream brush. For those that use badgers and have not used a good quality boar I would highly recommend this brush.

It has been a while five days since I have used an open comb, so I thought that I would break out the Cadet. After trying various blades with the Cadet head I can now say that my favorite blade in this razor is the Shark Super Stainless, followed closely by the Lord Platinum Plus and then the SuperMax Super Platinum. The Russian blades are too much for this razor, just makes my face feel almost R41 raw.

The Cadet just plows throw the whiskers, I had more reduction in a single pass than I did with the Feather after 35 minutes of shaving. Goes to prove that the cost of a razor has nothing to do with performance.

I am about 2/3 done with this bottle of British Sterling. I am thinking of purchasing every last bottle of it the next time I stop into the store as I never want to be without it. Although some aftershaves provide me with better conditioning, such as the Krampert's Finest, nothing smells as good to my nose as this. I find it classic, refined and complex in it's scent that reminds me of the English and Scottish countryside.

A great hot shower to start the morning off
Facial prep with Prairie Creations pre-shave soap
Brush choice for today's shave Semogue Owner's Club, the brush is breaking in nicely.
Today is razor change and blade change also. I chose the Gillette 40's British Rocket and paired it with a Rapria blade.
The razor and blade was a successful choice, three passes left my face with exceptional smoothness.
After a great shave cold water splash, alum, Kramperts Finest, and the finishing touch Don Marco.
Everyone have a great Monday, to start your week.

Prep: hot showe & Shave Secret pre-shave oil

Shave: Vulfix Sandlewood cream, Muhle silvertip fibre brush, FaTip grande razor, Astra S.P. blade (new)

Post: Thayer's witch hazel and Old Spice A.S.

Very nice shave (1 weeper). Thought I'd try the Shave Secret oil, which I've had for a while. I tried it once when I first started wet-shaving but didn't find it made much difference for me then. I've since begun using pre-shave oil to great benefit and thought it was time to try this again. It worked well, is pretty inexpensive and (drum roll)... is made in my beloved home state of Texas. How could I have doubted? ;)

Great picture! As you may have guessed, I'm a regular Ingrams user but being in the UK have never tried the Aqua Velva AS. So its a good menthol blast too then? I'll need to google a UK source. Also, the Osage Rub a lot of folks seem to use (especially Crackstar), I understand is a real cool blast as well? Now here's where I am confused - the AVCIB is clearly an aftershave splash-on but what of the Osage Rub? Can you, do you use them together? Don't mean to be a pest, just after some education TSD stlye.

Anyway today for me after no shave yesterday:

Edwin Jagger DE87 with a single shim and BIC Chrome Platinum blade
Edwin Jagger Super Badger medium in ivory
    Lavendor SC cream
Barbershop Bay Rum after cold water rinse
    Astral Cream

Three passes and a few touch ups on the awkward funny growth areas gave BBS results for face and DFS+ on neck which if is as good as it ever gets for me, I'll be delighted. This razor head with the shim is my number one so far and I'm hoping having a bigger chunkier handle squeezes the last out of it. Brush only shed two hairs today so maybe its calming down. If it goes bald Mrs Gairdner will shoot me because its hers! The Lavendor cream was a new experience for me but I think the cap must've worked loose in transit from Israel as the menthol was just not there and the cream seemed to have small lumps in it. Still, it provided a fine shave. Back to my Ingram's tomorrow as it will be pre-hospital appointment that I'm fairly nervous about so keep to tried, tested and familiar.

Got out the back today and axed out two billets from Ashwood for to carve into shaving brush handles. The first design I have in mind is a sort of cross between an Ever Ready 200T and a Simpsons Eagle but with 2 rings carved round the middle and more sharply defined corners than the Eagle. Second is classic Barbershop style in the Century/Rubberset mode. First will be for muggins here and I'd like to try a 27mm Omega boar knot, set to a shorter loft for face lathering MWF or Ingram's. Second one will likely have a 30mm Whipped Dog black badger knot in it and will be for Mrs Gairdner.

    Thanks again folks!

Graeme, The Aqua Velva Classic Ice Blue is a very nice menthol AS. It's has been used for many generations and is well worth trying. The menthol feel is nice and not over-powering. I personally never tried the Osage Rub but, I understand that it has a significant menthol blast. Whether it can be applied over the AVCIB or not ...?...Why not? lol I'm sure Jeff (Crackstar) can help you out in that respect; he is the master of the menthol. At any rate, you can not go wrong picking up a bottle of the AVCIB, so give it a try. As you know the Ingrams is a great SC and the AVCIB pairs with it very nicely! :love029:
