Thursday: Turkish Horsehair Super Speed/Sharp day 4 Lavanda SC (older version) Svoboda AS Balsam Barbon AS Oscar de la Renta Pour Lui EDT I had such a nice, close, and comfortable shave this morning that I really enjoyed. This Turkish Horsehair brush is great for lathering soaps and certain types of creams. The older version of Lavanda smells great, and has a slight cooling effect, and feels very good on the skin. If you have sensitive skin, then the Svoboda balsam and the Barbon aftershave will take good care of you!

This morning, for the first time, I used the RSC cream straight from brush to face and while it worked well enough, I think I'll stick to KMF for that kind of lathering. Over all though, a quick no nonsense DFS. Yesterday was a different story; preshave oil, hot towels, straight razor. The whole trainwreck, as it were. As always the W&B did it's thing and the shave was smooth. Have a great day, everyone Graham
Thursday: soak brush/Savile Row 3824/Ayar's Bowl warm shower Musgo Real Glyce Lime Oil Soap QCS Key Lime SS & SC lathered together with 3 drops M-Bomb Joris 1912T/Perma-Sharp Super (3) warm water rinse Monster Block Alum warm water rinse Thayer's Lemon WH followed by QCS Key Lime Aftershave Balm (very small amount) Pinaud Lime Sec Wonderful shave today,2 pass face,1 pass head,no touch-up's required for BBS.I didn't like shave 1 and 2 with the Joris/Perma-Sharp combo, but the third shave was the charm.Normally Perma-Sharps are my top blade in most razors,not-so much in the Joris.Today was different, nice and smooth, still with plenty of life in it for another shave or 2.
Shave of the Day (SOTD) Thursday October 4, 2012 Prep: Brush soaking in cold water, face wash with Noxzema Triple Clean, tepid shower Razor: FaTip Grande Blade: Vokshod Teflon Coated (1) Brush: Semogue 820 Cream: Lea Mentholated AS: English Leather Post: Cold Water Rinse, Double Splash Of Aftershave The shower was extra long today as even after an entire pot of Peet's French roast I still felt half asleep. Nothing wakes you up like a cool shower on a cold fall morning. Surprised that the Semogue 820 does not get more love on the forums as it is a great brush. The bristles are nice and soft, great for bowl lathering, and in my opinion it is a much better choice as a first brush compared to a cheap pure badger. The smell of Lea Menthol is enough to wake you up, as the menthol explodes in your face like a Claymore while you build the lather. It has become my favorite menthol cream as it really has a great kick, makes a nice slick lather and provides that lovely freeze to your face. This morning my face was screaming for an Open Comb and the FaTip was giving me a dirty look for not using it much lately. I plopped in a Voskhod (thanks Bruce/Stroker) as a Russian/Italian union seemed like a sure fire way to remove an ungodly amount of whiskers from my face. It was a massacre this morning, my whiskers had no place to go as the FaTip/Vokshod combo smoothly mowed them down. I almost felt sorry for them as there was no escaping the path of destruction. After one pass I could have stopped and left with a better shave than I had yesterday, but I wanted to push on. Two full passes and some minor touch-up's at my jawline provided a BBS shave that was as good as it gets.
Thursday morning, October 4, 2012 Schick E2 Injector razor w/ Schick blade (4) Semogue 1305 boar bristle brush, Arko shaving soap w/ hot water lather, finish with cold water rinse for a DFS!
Shaves are a bit boring this week. Everything is packed up except my Merkur 34c, Proraso tube, Razorock Alum, Omega Boar, and some VS ASB. It's going to be like this until at least next Wed/Thurs. I already miss mixing it up everyday.

Monty, that's great to hear that your shaving journey is coming together. Might I suggest a blade sampler.
4th of October Thursday, 2012 Before I hit the shower I refilled the Hummingbird feeder and the hanging water station {we live in apartment we have small balcony} We still Hummingbirds at our feeder, they are fueling up for their non-stop trip to Costa Rica. Facial prep with Prairie Creations, does a great job prepping the face for the lather. Featured sop today RazoRock Fresco. Next up in the brush rotation the Omega 48, since the Semogue brushes moved in the Omega has somewhat been neglected. The Omega did outstanding lathering job this morning, the lather exploded in the bowl. Building on yesterday's lather success I left the brush a tad wetter, it has proven to be successful. Day two for the 20's Gillette OC and Super Max Platinum. My newly discovered change up of the doing the ATG last is proving to bring the shave up a notch. Today's shave was a superior DFS, that pretty close to BBS. I hope that everyone has had a great week, hang in there, tomorrow is TGIF.

One of the closest I've ever had. It is now almost fifteen hours later and the stubble is only just starting to come. Aro & Gem are an awesome combination (to me that is...) Wish you all the best shaves!

Bigelow cream Lathering Technique:Bowl lathered Aftershave:Cold water splash / C.O. Bigelow Barber Elixir Green ASB Continuing to try different blades in the Cadet TP-26 OC, so thougt I would go with the sharper Gillette 7 o’clock yellow. Results are very nice. Nice BBS shave with the Bigelow cream, bowl lathered with the super soft Frank Silvertip. The Bigelow cream is nice, but not as nice as the Real Shave Co. Moisturizing cream which so far seems to be the best. Finished with several splashes of cold water and the sadly discontinued C.O. Bigelow Barber Elixir Green After Shave Balm.
